Then after a camera cut, the AirVideo server working off the same file system, streams the file to the iPad, probably compressed at this point. I don't see why either of those would be untenable of fast wifi connection.

I don't think this is correct after looking at the website. The cube compresses and encodes the stream coming off the camera into something that can manageably be sent over wifi (1080p H.264 it appears) for viewing on a laptop. The uncompressed 4k stream coming off the camera is still recorded to hard drives via wires.

Re: Apple iPad Thread
Is there any way to access ftp/full tilt on an ipad, or somehow transfer money to other players? I do not have to be able to play, just transfer money.

Re: Apple iPad Thread
Yeah there is no way they are using 1080p H264 as their primary raw footage. This is just to view the shot immediately to see how it looked.

The iPad has both revolutionized and doubled the time I spend in the bathroom.

Re: Apple iPad Thread
Easily once or twice a week.
My wife no longer asks if I'm alright, she just walks by, and says "Stop playing Angry Birds and gtf out of there."

Re: Apple iPad Thread
Got my Ipad yesterday, browsing is finest !!
Got a few Apps:
Airdisplay
GoodReader
IcabMobile
AngryBirds
PvZ
Teamviewer HD
Any More MUST HAVE Apps until now? (Splashtop doesnt work right now, Have a Macmini. No Windows)
Im in search for a RemoteDesktop CLient which actually uses Touchinput Ipadwise, Teamviewer uses Ipad Screen like a Touchpad for a Notebook.
Only LogMein has it from what ive read but 29,99 $ is pretty steep.

ZumoCast. Free app, stream any video files to your ipad, and optionally convert and save them to the ipad for offline viewing. So far the best free app i've found by far.

Jump is my favorite RDP app. I think a lot of other people use it as well. Granted I haven't tried everything else but Jump is very very good for me. I love the mouse circle, and they've added different input methods which are nice as well.
