I really don't see what the advantage would be for him to say anything. He would not get any less time than he is currently getting since his sentence was reduced for taking culpability and then further for apologizing. So if he talks he gets no further advantage and gets labeled a rat which for someone serving time is a big deal.

Further, his story is the only story that hasn't changed very much. His story makes sense and I'm inclined to believe that while it is not 100% truthful it is more true than not.

After the Casey Anthony verdict I wouldn't be surprised by any of the 4 possible outcomes.

However, even if the Italian Supreme Court eventually reverses the appeal court ruling and finds Knox guilty again, the chances of Italy pursuing her extradition from the United States are considered slim. - ABC News.
I was just reading about the possible outcomes of what could happen to Amanda. Don't really understand this. Anyone explain?

Or maybe its about her mother and her trial for lying about the cops and someone mixed the cases up?

Seems pretty straightforward to me. Even if they find her innocent the case could still go to the Italian Supreme Court where should could be found guilty.

No more Italian vacations for her though. Although I imagine that would be a given either way.

If she were found innocent, released, then found guilty by the supreme court and she wasnt extradited it would be a ridiculous miscarriage of justice.

If she is released she will obviously leave Italy instantly-- she has a jet on standby-- so once she is in the States again there is nothing forcing her to show up to the next and final appeal which regardless of what happens today is a certainty. If she is found guilty then they would need to get the US to send her back to Italy which ABC seems to think is unlikely.

I think ABC is wrong. If this situation plays out the US will send her back. The concern would be that she would disappear and that is almost certain.

There is also a chance that if she is found not guilty they will nevertheless keep her in jail. She is on trial for slander and that faces up to 12 years in jail. She is also a massive flight risk so they could order her to stay in jail while the next appeal happens.

And the PR-firm would be money insanely well-spent by the Knox family since they've already convinced most of America she's innocent.

How can anyone think she's guilty? Look at how young, white, and pretty she is, case closed IMO....

I know every time I go to CNN.com they have some pick of her looking like a wounded puppy dog. I mean how could a guilty person look like that?

I love how the Knox supporters are all hedging their bets. The party line is "Um we expect for sure she'll go free. BUT, juries aren't sequestered in Italy, so the biased media may be clouding their judgment."

He was at the house and went to the bathroom because he was ill. When he came out she had been attacked and Amanda and Raf fled the house.

He tried to help her but she was bleeding and he figured being a petty criminal and a black man (the culture is much like the US south) he figured he would get blamed so he fled.

That isn't a truthful story but it is a lot closer to the truth than anything Knox has said.

The Italians take their defamation seriously. I actually have no idea how the court system manages to function given how easy it is to get in criminal trouble for damaging someone's reputation.

It does seem an excessive punishment. How long was she actually interrogated for when she blamed Patrick Lumumba? I've read 14 hours in one place but other amounts of time from other sources.

Sollecito's story is that he was at home. First using a computer to download and watch movies despite his ISP showing no usage and later sleeping despite his phone turning on -- thus the cat story.

He has refused to confirm that Amanda was with him until today. Originally he said she wasn't and then he went with I can't remember if she was or wasn't. Today he finally agreed that she was with him.

The only other relevant information that he provided is that he lied about how DNA got on a knife at his house. He claims that Meredith's DNA got on the knife because he pricked her with it as a joke when she was over at his house. That was later proved to be a lie.

Isnt the defamation case against Knox over claiming the police abused her, not that she falsely blamed the barman dude?

Yes it's over the police 'physically abusing' her.
