I still feel very confident that the actual time of death was before 9:30 and that the available evidence supports that. From what I'm reading Hellman clearly states that he believes the 9:58 and 10:00 phone activity (voicemail and Abbey call) were not Meredith so that in and of itself would suggest he believes TOD was before that phone activity.
He also apparently says that the Skype call is very important in this case and that Rudy says himself that he was in the house before the time when Meredith got home. It's not hard to put 2 + 2 together and see what happened when Meredith got home. That was at 9pm.
But let's not get caught up in the actual details of the evidence, let's just say 404 is wrong because of some magazine article that provides no reasoning.
