'Cos you were in court and heard all the evidence, so are totally qualified to comment, right ?

Oh, you weren't...

Even a lot of mainstream euro media said the evidence shown isn't remotely close enough to consider a conviction, but her family and lawyers weren't helping her. Her Dad was on Italian TV today proclaiming how he just bought a ticket to bring her home...this is after her mother showed up to court this July 4 in a Red White and Blue hotpant ensemble.

Most messed up to me about the Italian court process...."During court breaks, jurists have lunch and coffee at the same cafés as lawyers and journalists. In fact, while jurors cannot be quoted in the press, they are still allowed to discuss the case and follow the press coverage."

I kept up with this case in the US and have to say I'm pretty surprised at the verdict. Maybe she did it, but it didn't seem like there was enough evidence to convict. The whole idea of "a sex-game gone wrong" seems absurd, almost laughably-so. Plus, some other dude was already convicted.

Its so funny all these people "following" the trial in the media (which naturally want a story, rather than reporting the facts) and the saying its a miscarraige

No I wasn't, you are right nobody is in court unless you are there so I think it difficult to say this. But very likely public opinion is so stacked against her that she may very well been convicted on that. It's hard to have an intelligent opinion you are right. I'm just not so sure it was the correct decision however.

So please explain why you're so convinced she did it. Explain how the evidence overwhelmingly shows guilt.

So many weird things in this case. I don't get why she was doing cartwheels in the police station when she was waiting to be interrogated. Why the hell would you do that if you had killed her and planned on lying to the police? FPS maybe?

There is no evidence whatsoever that this Girl did this crime. Joke of a "justice" system over there.

This makes me imagine some staffer at TMZ or something getting convicted of a crime and then in the appeal claiming that they didn't have a jury of their peers since their peers all look at several hours worth of tabloid stuff a day. Future Law and Order episode imo.

Regarding the cartwheel, someone on CNN just said that she was waiting 11 hours or so while her boyfriend was being interrogated and started stretching, then one of the policeman asked if she was a gymnast and if she could do a cartwheel or something like that..

She was also sitting on her boyfriend's lap and being "inappropriately affectionate" in the police station. There was a lot of stuff about her showing no remorse, seen making out with her bf in public, acting really weird about the whole thing afterward. But obv. it's hard to say how much of that was baseless rumor.

They also brought up the fact Italians made a big deal she was buying underwear the day after the murder, rebuking it by saying she was prevented from entering her home and needed clothes

Can anyone think of any case where someone who turned out to be innocent first tried to frame an acquaintance, family member, friend or colleague? I really think that's the most damning part to me.

I don't care that she wrote in her prison journal that she was glad they let him go two weeks later. She probably knew by then he had an airtight alibi and knew they would read that at some point.
