This may fall on deaf ears, but I wish it makes a difference.

My son died on May 23rd.

At 23 years old.

Police say suicide.

But won't investigate further.

He ingested mushrooms.How, it's not known,all is known is he ended up shooting himself.

Other people were there at the time,no one was interviewed.

No neighbors were interviewed.

I never was asked anything when I showed up.

I asked questions, asked to have additional evidence collected from the people at the scene.

To the point they threatened to arrest me.

Found out the investigator did the investigation over the phone.

Because it was the weekend,no investigator came out, and the officers on scene told him it looked like a suicide.

I've made inquiries on how it was handled and have been threatened with arrest, just because I'm asking questions.

Talked to officers in other jurisdictions and they told me that procedure wasn't followed.

And it looks like that's the end of it.

All I want to tell you guys is to tell the people you care about how much you care for them.

Because it may be the last time the next time you see them.

And to let the petty **** go.

Don't let the memory you have of them be a bad one.

Make amends if possible.

And God better watch his ass, when we meet it's not going to be pretty.

Actually had a police officer recommend this.

But he also recommended I not live in this jurisdiction when I decide to pursue it.

Still waiting for the final report, it may be another couple months, they aren't just incompetent, they're lazy as well.

That's rough man. My condolences.

I say 'Love you' whenever I part with both of my children(and they reciprocate), no matter if it is going out or going upstairs to bed. My reasoning is, the last words I will say to them will always be 'Love you', much like what OP is inferring.

I've found out how much family means, and found out how great his friends are.

He really had great friends, I have ****** relatives.
