Interesting thanks for posting. I did more digging last night and found a bunch of people unhappy with the update. I didn't have any issues with 7.0 but only used it for a week before my phone **** out.

At least Intel isn't the only one in town with nothing new to present to the class this year.

Weird question that I don't know if anyone in here can help me with.

My previous phone was a Galaxy Nexus. My current car is a 2010 Mazda 3. I synced the two via bluetooth. Whenever I would turn on the car in bluetooth mode, my phone would automatically start playing music through bluetooth. It was a really convenient feature.

I recently upgraded to an S7 with Nougat. It's synced with my car now. But it doesn't autoplay music when the car starts. I know it's a minor thing, but I can't figure out how to turn this feature on. The people at the store don't have any idea what setting I need to turn on.

settings > connections > bluetooth > paired device settings > enable media audio

That setting was already enabled. I can play music through the car's bluetooth. It just doesn't automatically start playing as soon as I start the car like my Nexus did. I have to take out my phone, open the music player and manually press play.

In the big scheme of things, it's a minor inconvenience, but I really liked the autoplay.

Anyone have any feedback (or point to the right forum) for Samsung's VR? I was surprised to see the VR headset they offer is only $99 (and on sale for $79 right now). That's pretty reasonable if it's a fun toy. Do you need to buy accessories to play games? Is content produced specifically for VR, and how do you buy/rent it?

It's a fun toy for games (you will want to buy a bluetooth controller), great for VR video.

You will need an S6 or newer, preferably an S7 or newer.

There's a special Oculus store where you can buy or download for free games / experiences https://www.oculus.com/experiences/gear-vr/

Game-wise PSVR is the next cheapest, especially if you already have a PS4 and is far far superior (proper games, proper head movement). Oculus Rift and HTC Vive both step up quality again. The gear can only process rotational head movement (fine for video, it's all that is possible), the others allow you to lean forward/back/left/right also, greatly increasing the effect in games.

There's a free video app "Samsung VR" that has loads of frequently updated VR video content, sometimes quite good - recently there was a VR prequel for the new series of 24: Legacy for example.

There's a free app called NextVR that broadcasts occasional NBA matches and other sporting events live in VR, I think they did Masters golf last year too. I think NBA league pass is needed for the NBA games.

There are VR porn companies that sell lots of VR porn to download.

I received a Samsung VR setup with the purchase of the phone. I cant use it as my eyes have different prescriptions and the focus applys to both eyes. As mentioned earlier the software and quite a bit of content is free.

If you have a Pixel or Nexus check for system update to fix wireless adapter security bug. Everyone else, stay off public WiFi until you get a patch.

Yes. iPhone, Pixel, and I think Nexus have been patched but there are still a ton of devices out there that are not.

That can only harm your phone if you actually connect to a public wifi network, correct?
Just having wifi turned on (but not necessarily connected to any network) will not enable the exploit?

I don't think they said definitively if you have to be connected. It would definitely make it easier but theoretically your device is accepting packets even when WiFi is not connected.

+1

Although I'm hoping they don't lag far behind when RCS becomes widespread and stable. Seems like Android Messages is going to be 1st on that, but the question is by how much.
