It comes with the frame attached so you don't have to mess with pulling the screen apart and applying adhesive. I pretty much followed the steps in the YouTube video on that page, but they don't show a couple things you need to move over from the old frame to the new one. PM me before you do it and I'll tell you what I did/learned.
Awesome, thx!

Nah, no Facebook apps on my phone - I got sick of the apps killing battery and switched to using a shortcut to the mobile site. It never happened before then and hasn't happened since (at least not that I've noticed)

One complaint that I have is that owning the Google Home has made my Pixel less functional. I used to shout at my phone to send texts, open apps, or turn things like Bluetooth on and off. Now that I've got the Home, it is always the one to answer my verbal commands so I can't do those things as long as the Home can hear me.

As long as the Home and Pixel versions of the assistant will do different things, they need to set up a way to distinguish between them when you want a command followed by one or the other. An example is when I want the Home to respond but not my phone, I say "hey google" instead of "OK google", since the Home picks that up easily but the phone doesn't recognize it. (this is pretty unnecessary though, because as long as both can hear me the response gets routed through the Home anyways). There needs to be something similar to get the phone but not the Home, even if it's a modifier like "OK Google, on my phone".

I haven't come across any articles that point out the redundancy of the Home and Pixel - rather than complement each other, they just overlap.
I like the Home, but I basically just bought a decent speaker.

If you can't solve it: sounds like something that a factory reset could probably solve (unless it for some reason that is really planned behavior on your device)

Weird, a couple days ago the cut/copy/paste highlight issue I was having just randomly went away. Works fine everywhere now.

Anyone know why the motion sensor on my Moto Z Force would be turning off randomly? Once in a while it simply stops working. Usually if you swipe your hand over the face while it's "asleep" the screen will show the time, battery, and message notifications. Now I have to hit the power button or the fingerprint pad to wake it up. I can't find this in the settings. Things like this where the solution is "it always goes back to normal after a while" or "try turning the phone off and on" usually end up driving me crazy.

EDIT: I just turned it off and on again and it fixed this. Even though I'm in my 30s I'm like a 78 year old man with cell phones so I'll avoid ranting about these types of things in here in the future. Until I forget to.

any unlocking experts?
I have a ZTE Z320 (new, unused, walmart Family Mobile) Flip(LTE capable) that was recommended as the best flip(large size , LTE capable)
i want to use on Tmobile for my Father in Law, phone is only 29 bucks but it cost 12-18 bucks for an unlock code that i could find, i found one post on reddit where a guy claimed he found a source for an unlock code for "a couple bucks" but have gotten zero responses there.

Really? I wouldn't think they are that different.

Geekbench scores:

Nexus 5x - 1009 (+2%)
Xperia Z3 - 987

They are rather similar in performance.

Touchscreen feels much smoother and more responsive even though it's a replacement. The battery charges in under an hour via the usb-c as opposed to 3-4 hours for the Xperia via either of it's methods. Also, I got the Xperia through T-Mobile and it had a **** ton of bloatware preinstalled on it that I never bothered to clean out, so that one's on me.

I can def see the 5X being much better than the z3 just because Nexus/Pixel > not.

But I don't know crap about Sony phones so take that for what it is.

One thing I always liked about the Xperia's is their small size. It's really hard to find an android phone with a screen < 5" these days.

Yeah, it is a nice size. The battery life also was amazing for the first year or so, but steadily got worse after that.

Pixel XL battery seems pretty great. With s6 edge, would go to work, have standard use, plug in phone intermittently throughout the day, and by the time have ~20-30% of batter remaining. About 10 hours door to door. Day 1 with Pixel, never plugged phone in, had pretty standard use, 80% of battery remaining when I got home.

same, i'm super happy with pixel xl so far. no physical home button taking some getting used to.

one thing i'm a little pissed about - i was planning to unlock the phone. i don't really mess around much with root anymore, but i was thinking of doing it just to block ads. i turned off automatic updates, but my phone still updated on its own after ~12 hours to 7.1.1, and that update blocks unlocking. not a huge deal, but if anyone else gets one through verizon and you are even considering unlocking it, be ready to go right when you get it.

Verizon locks the Pixel??? I thought all Verizon phones are unlocked (and all google phones too).

One thing I am sad about with Pixel is I spent a ton of money buying several QC 3.0 chargers (a few for the house, a couple for the office, one for the backpack, a car one, etc) and the Pixel doesn't use the QC 3.0 standard.

Smartphone benchmarks have been proven to be little more than random number generators in reference to real world performance.

I have a problem with my S6 Edge+ and I am wondering if anyone may be able to help me out. I have spoken to Verizon support and Samsung support but they have been of little help. Samsung wants me to ship my phone to them but I use it to work and can't be without it for a week..or however long it will take.

When I plug my phone into a wall charger it shows the that it is plugged in and charging but the battery continues to drain per the percentage of full battery charge shown. As a matter of fact, the phone display will even show that it is fast charging which I believe means that it is getting over 800ma through the cable. However, it will eventually shut down due to low battery power. I have tried multiple wall chargers, cables etc and I am sure it is not a charger.

If I set it on a wireless charger, it shows that it is charging and the battery will build charge to full power and does so in a normal amount of time. It charges fine on the wireless charger

This is what is odd. I downloaded an APP that will monitor net current going into the phone. I know it will not be accurate as far as the current shown, but I just want to see what my wall charger is as compared to the wireless charger. The odd thing is that the net current acts the same whether it is plugged into the wall charger or sitting on the wireless charger.

I have deleted apps that verizon support said were known to cause trouble like this but it didn't help.

The next thing I can try is to go through a battery calibration process and, if that doesn't work, then a phone reset but I would rather not do that.

Any help would be appreciated!

imho: try factory reset (it's normally not that big a deal to set it back up). if that doesn't help --> repair / replace it.
don't think there's much else you can try.

ncboiler, does the usb port work fine otherwise? e.g. can you transfer files etc?

That seems like a port problem to me.

Good point. I'll see if I can transfer files.

I was also going to mention the port. I had some weird charging problems (different phone but similar issues) and switching over to a wireless receiver was my solution. Turned out the usb port was damaged, even though I was still able to transfer files to and from a PC.

The port likely does not use the same pins to charge and to transfer files. So if a pin is damaged it still may work for some things
