I had a P2 for about 6 months no issue, broke the screen, got a replacement phone a couple of months ago which has started being really laggy. Is there any apps worth downloading that show CPU usage or can give a hint of what's gone wrong?

I think I'll be signing up for Project Fi this week. Anyone have a referral code they want me to use?

I'm fairly confident Project fi doesn't make sense economically anymore (unless you own a Fi device outright use <1GB per month or something like that). I'd definitely look at Verizon/AT&T/T-Mobile month to month plans. I'm paying nothing on AT&T and have 6GB/month with rollover.

I own a pixel and am currently by myself on a 2gb Verizon plan for ~50/mo total (20 for one line, 35 for data but corporate discount puts it at ~27, plus taxes/fees). It's month-to-month (no contract)

I'm right around that 2gb/mo thanks to frequent wifi usage. Running the math on Fi, my bill would be slightly less for the same data usage plus the free international text and data is a big benefit (several trips coming up), so it seems to make sense for me

Yea maybe 2GB is the threshold. Low usage and already owning a Pixel/Nexus device seems to be the criteria to make it work.

International travel with Fi is pretty nice.

I used your code. I don't see any sort of credit on my account, so let me know if anything shows up for you.

Once you're active for 30 days, we should both get $20. Thanks and enjoy! My bill this month was $25.67

An ever-present question, really, and it depends on your preferences. Buy half priced but old or full price but new? I don't think there's anything special about the Pixel line, so really just boils down to that.

I just like them because they are vanilla and I don't have to deal with the bloatware. The cameras are nice too.

Sorry I didn't phrase it right - I meant the Pixel line doesn't change that fundamental question at all, it's the same question you'd ask if getting an iPhone X or XI or Note 8 vs 9 right now (or something like that? you get the idea).

I agree about Pixels being awesome. I have the original and love it still.

I am considering getting the Asus Zenpad 3s 10. Does anyone have experience with one?

I am looking for an Android tablet with that screen size (9.7") or larger for that price ($300) or less and at least 64GB, if you have an alternative recommendation.

Anyone have any advice at all about the current smart watch market? Or good places to do my own research?

I want to get my brother one as a gift. He's very interested in tracking health stuff (currently wears a basic fitbit thing now), and is also looking at his phone all the time checking texts for his business. So it seems like a good gift idea. Assuming most options are between 200-400, I don't really have a budget.

saw7988,

On the broader market issues of smart watches, for some reason, there have been no good new processors/CPUs fit for wearables released or developed in recent years. So the whole smart watch market is a bit stagnant.

Wirecutter.com has credible reviews which compare different smart watches in some detail/quality.

In case anyone is curious, or may have more specific insight on this later stage, I'm starting to get a feel for the options and narrow down this decision.

I'm looking at the Samsung sport one as probably my #1, but also considering Misfit and Garmin. Going to do some feature comparison at some point soon (I don't need this until the end of July), but thought I'd share an update (especially since there's not much else conversing here )

Just got my new phone - the Xiaomi Mi8 (the latest flagship for the largest manufacturer in China, with this being very similar to the iPhone X).

I had to say that, so far anyway, it looks like a beast. I've never seen anything as fast as this.
