yeah I quite liked it as well.
I've only seen three of the movies that were nominated for something here.

Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy, Oldman was pretty solid in this. In general though, the screenplay was fantastic. I loved how the story was told, however I never read the book. I am gonna guess its close though because I've read "The Spy Who Came In From the Cold" and it felt similar.
