Is it worth buying both Theory of Poker AND NL Hold Em Theory and Practice?

I am strictly a hold em player (right now) and want to read Sklansky's stuff and just wanted to know real quick whether both of these books should be read or if the latter will have all the information I will need. Thanks for any input guys.

Very different books.
Both worth reading.
In fact, both highly recommended.

ToP covers a ton of stuff applicable to all poker games.
NLHTAP gets into (believe it or not) NLHE specific stuff.

They are both worth reading, however, since OP said he is strictly a hold em player, NLHE TAP would more likely help his game more than the ToP.

Having said that, I think Professional NLHE volume 1 by Ed Miller and company is even more likely to help OP's game if he were only going to read one book on NLHE.

Just ordered ToP, NLHE TAP, and Professional NLHE...what a coincidence lol. Any recommended reading order? I'm currently reading Harrington on Cash Games 1 and 2.

I just finished rereading PNL1. It really is an excellent book. I'd say read this one first because it will give the practical knowledge you can actually use in a game.

I've read the other two. Great books, as well, but they are theory books and you will have to read multiple times to get any benefit. They try to get you to think for yourself as a poker player. I must have read TOP multiple times and I'm always learning something new from it.

I'd say in order PNL, NLHE TAP, TOP(this will be the hardest book out of the 3)

while TOP is not specifically a hold 'em book (and features many examples from other games) the information will help the reader understand all poker; and most importantly will help the reader to understand the other books!

I would recommend reading TOP before reading any advanced poker book.
