I do remember the author basically saying that he felt the book was probably useful in many areas. So my question is: Is this book aimed at 6 max Online? If not, is this book for all areas of NLH? Or is it aimed at another specific area (like full ring)?
I mainly play live, so I was just hoping for some clarification on this.
Thanks in advance.
I played online, and all the examples are for 6-max play. That said, most of the examples involve cutoff vs button or button vs blind situations, as they're the most common and both players have wide ranges which make it easier to illustrate concepts. So it's unlikely full ring UTG vs UTG+1 examples would be as useful since both players would have much stronger and tighter ranges.
The goal of the book is to make the reader understand poker at a much deeper level and give him the tools to play against tough opponents and continually improve his game. If this sounds helpful for live poker, it probably is. If it sounds like this is unnecessary for live poker, and you'd be better off memorizing some hand charts/pot odds and learning how to read tells to play against weak opponents, then this book might not be for you (at least not right now).
