All my poker books are paperback, with a few eBooks that I'll read on my desktop. I think I'm going to try out a handheld reader though.

Anyone out there use one? Kindle, tablet, other?

How do you like it?

The Kindle paperwhite is the bomb; easy to read, light, backlit, easy to use & you (likely) can check books out from your local library right to the Kindle.

Tablets suck as ereaders IMO---too heavy & not as easy to look at the screen for extended periods.

I have a Kobo Glo HD and I like it a lot ( I have more than 500 hours logged in)

I have an older kindle and the kindle app on my phone. The ability to share and sync bookmarks and notes is handy as I don't bring my kindle on my short commutes.

Hi Chicken:

I also have a Kindle Paperwhite and like it very much. For me, the ability to take and save many detailed notes makes it worthwhile all by itself.

Best wishes,
Mason

ChickenNuts nailed it - I totally agree. I have both and although I use my table out of convenience (i.e. easy access online, etc..), it is much easier to read on Kindle paperwhite.

Kindle and Kobo are fairly comparable with some distinct differences:

Kobo allows borrowing books from library whereas Kindle does not
Kobo uses more standard formats which allow for more flexibility when purchasing books from other sources

Kindle only uses Amazon so only books purchased on Amazon can be used on Kindle (though it is not really an issue with most)
Kindle seems to have a more integrated system

Overall, I don't think you can go wrong with either a Kobo or Kindle - both are great devices and will serve your purpose well.
