i heard this at table i was playing at in some donkament with Antonius and Cassidy and Jesus,
The table is talking about how amazing Ivey is and Antonius goes, " Ivey put the worst beat in history on Cassidy." Ferguson goes, "What poker?" and Antonius goes, "no golf."

So Cassidy tells the tale. "Me and Ivey are playing golf. We're not betting, we're just playing for fun. He's beaten me like 12 holes in a row and on the 13th he's like, "You got no shot. I'll probably just make this right now. (from about 60 yards out) So Cassidy says, I'd be willing to take action on that." They barter for a bit and he and Ivey agree at 150:1 for 1k. Ivey strolls up and takes a few practice swings and says, "I cant do this, I feel like I'm just giving away money." So then they agree to 200:1. Ivey then steps up and 1 hops it right in from 60 yards out. ship it

There is a pokercast episode where they talk about this bet, and how Cassidy was paying Ivey the money back.

Yes Cassidy himself told this story on 2+2 pokercast about a year ago.

Rule of story: NEVER bet Ivey 200:1 on anything. Risk >>>> Reward

this story is true, and also likely one of the worst beats ever taken in a prop bet, 200:1 are nowhere near the true odds, even for a world class golfer...

You mean like Tiger Woods?

I'll bet the odds of Tiger holing a 60 yard wedge...
Are <<< 200:1.

And now that Tiger has been outed as a Degen...
And should just go with it as the Bad Boy of Golf...
It's time Phil coached Tiger in dice and props.

if somebody offers you 200:1 on ANYTHING - you take it.
If John Mellencamp ever wins an Oscar, I am going to be a very rich dude.

for a 30 handicap i think 1500-2500:1 somewhere would be the odds.

tiger would prob be around 75:1... AT WORST, maybe even better... seriously all pro golfers are in the '100 and in' club.... there was a bob rotella book called Golf is Not a Game of Perfect where he says that all golfers should be trying to make their shot when they are within a comfortable distance... for most pros this yardage is around 130 yards... so at 60 yards being a flip wedge for tiger, i expect prob around 30 to 1... seriously, 30 golf balls being hit from the same spot he will MORE THAN LIKELY make one of those.

nah man thats only 30 buy ins...even for the stone cold nuts golfer he needs better golfballshotrollmanagement than that....give him like 50 buy ins so he can deal with the variance and some bad swings on his attempts.

you guys are crazy.....I bet if you could somehow look up how many shots Tiger Woods has hit from approx 60-80 yards in his career vs the amount of shots he's actually holed out from 60-80 yards the ratio would have to be like 300-400:1 or worse.

Now if you said what are the odds of him hitting it within 3 ft of the hole from that same distance....it would drop down drastically into the range of 10-15:1.

whatever donkey said it's 30:1 obviously has never watched/played golf. With that kind of stat Tiger would be making a 60-70 yard shot every tournament or two.....WHICH IS A HUGE FALSE
