Re: Review of SSNLHE
I would imagine that it's a good book for you, but it just doesn't offer anything for experienced SSNL'ers ... I bought it too, shrugged my shoulders and that's it, tho it's no big deal

Re: Review of SSNLHE
iirc this book was to prepare you for small stakes. iirc it wasnt meant to turn you into phil ivey, or cts. it was written to give a solid foundation to help you win at the small stakes level. it wouldnt really to a whole lot for people currently playing SSNL. (well i say that, but maybe it could).

Re: Review of SSNLHE
I was curious, but didn't have a lot of expectations bying it ... and yes, it's a book aimed a uNL players and fullfills that role fine.

Re: Review of SSNLHE
I would say that if you can beat online NL100 6max games against today's typical opposition, you probably won't learn that much in SSNLHE. Of course, there is no definite set of knowledge for each stake, so this is just a rough guideline.

Re: Review of SSNLHE
Eh, the back of the book is still useful for SSNL+, there's a lot of info on bet sizing and range balancing tucked in there. I do think it's a little "light" on stuff you need to know at 200NL tho'.

I think the book is well suited for online play against good tight players but as a live NL500 player, the strategy will not work. The web site said the advice in the book would work for live players as well but I find that this is not true.

Re: Review of SSNLHE
So if I'm beating 50nl for 2ptbb and I want to be at 200nl by the end of next year, and I've just subscribed to DC for their videos..which book am I buying as a complement - this, Baluga's, Bobbo's or some other book? (assume I can afford any of them)

if you havent read it then perhaps ssnlhe would be of benefit.
CR would be of good benefit for you as well though.
i cant say how much of a benefit Bobbofitos book or Baluga whales book would be though.

Quoting from an email they sent out about the paperback copy on June 10th:

Unfortunately our present distributor cannot ship to addresses outside the United States. We hope to be able to be able to ship internationally and also to have an ample supply of books within a few weeks. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
|
So, have to wait a few weeks I guess, unless you can get someone in the US to order and send you a copy.

While the paperback can only be shipped to the U.S. right now, they just dropped the price of the e-book to $29.95:
