Re: Raiser's Edge

I bought the book a few days ago. Def different from all others I have read so far. I love it, above all because I play TAG style.

I did this and enjoyed KE, reading RE now and it has been pretty good so far. Only wish I could practice some of what I read in KE regarding bubble strategies for SNGs...Black Friday<sigh>

Re: Raiser's Edge

Hi Lee,

Just wanted to thank you and the gang very much for Kill Everyone. I even followed the diet section! I believe it was a big catalyst in me winning the Sunday Million a few years back. The stuff on final table play was monstrous at the time. I killed everyone. That money got me through university and helped me set up my own business at the end. It was a revelation to me, and I'm sure it was a revelation to the game as a whole.

I haven't played much poker for a while, but I'm getting back into it now. A little rusty, though. It seems this book has been released at just the right time for me! Should be arriving tomorrow, and I can't wait to get back on the horse.

Thanks in advance for my next big win

Hi Joey,

Thank you for the kind words which are much appreciated by our team of authors. I'm pleased that you found Kill Everyone useful and that it helped you win a Sunday Million. Awesome!

I hope that you find The Raiser's Edge to be equally as useful for today's aggressive tournaments.

Thanks again, and best of luck.

Kind regards,

Lee

I think its a very comprehensive mtt book on a relativly high level.
When you read the content section, you see that pretty much all aspects of modern tournament play are covered. Its nicely structured in
General-Concepts / Early blind play / middle stages / End game / Considerations / Appendix.

You get some basics like in HOH, you get charts/guidelines like in KE and you get hand examples like in Winning Pokertournaments.
In addition to that it focuses on the current state of game, espacially discussing the modern LAG styles.

For me its a good book to repeat and update some stuff, but nothing groundbreaking if you are allready a advanced mtt-nut.

Its not like that you will find some secret ELKY tactics that will transfer you into a superhero, unfortunately ;-)

Overall i would say its one of the best mtt books out there and definitive worth its price.

Re: Raiser's Edge

I have a question about the equilibrium charts. Maybe this question is already answered in the book, or in one of the Kill books, but I missed it.

Do you need to adjust your range for a short table. In HOH, Harrington mentions that your "effective M" what you call CSI becomes smaller with fewer players at the table, and therefore play more aggressively. Do you advocate making a similar adjustment to CSI for playing against fewer opponents?

Re: Raiser's Edge

is it suitable for micro stakes or too over the top? i have about 60%-70% ROI but want to achieve mor then 100%. i read kill everyone but didnt like the whole equilibrium play thing. (CSI and bubble factor was very good tho). can i look at the contents anywhere?
