I remember when hold 'em was a niche game. Maybe one hold 'em table per casino. Rest were mostly 7-card stud.

Damn I'm getting old. I remember when there were 5-card draw tables.

Jeff are you going to have a standard/ generic starting hand chart for your 6 max PLO book? Something like a range of hands from each posistion to either call, bet, raise or re raise depending on the number of players who entered the pot? Something like the one matthew higler has for his Internet Texas Holdem book.

That would be real nice.

That would be insanely difficult for Omaha I would think. Way too many combinations of hands.

i'm thinking it would be categories... but now i think it would be tough even doing that.

what i can't figure out about 6max is that it's pretty hard to play very many hands deep, but then you won't play very many hands at all, but then it's 6max so you have to play a certain number of hands... guess it tells me that postion is insanely important.

It won't be specific starting hand charts. What we have are the Premium, Speculative, and Marginal hands as described in the first book, plus an additional group of "Small Ball" hands that are playable in short-handed pots when you the positional advantage, assuming you have figured out the float (which is Part I, the bulk of which is available for free online as I speak).

It will actually seem pretty simple once you see it.

Cool. Really looking forward to the new book. I actually just picked up your older PLO book a few days ago, enjoying it so far.

You're exaggerating more than just a bit there, and remember that three 6-max tables = two full ring tables in quantity of players. Right now there are maybe 2.5x as many 6-max tables running on Stars as full ring tables. That's hardly "nearly everyone" playing 6-max.

So many peopel on 2p2 are action junkies playing 6max that it's easy to forget about FR but FR is still alive and well.
