Poker Math that Matters by Owen "QTip" Gaines

Just ordered this tonight, will post a review when done. QTip coaches for Dragthebar and the price for this book is definitely reasonable and a steal if it helps plug one small leak in my game which I'm sure it will.

Anyone else read this yet?

Still working on this, but wow, this book is awesome.

PS: I am not affiliated with the author in any way, review coming, etc etc.

His 1/2NL 6max results are kind of shockingly bad but still.

My PTR took a beating about 2 years ago when PTR lost a few databases in an upgrade. Overnight it went from 3BB to 0.7BB. Here are my lifetime NLHE 6-max results at 1/2 and 2/4:

I'm not one to "toot my own horn", but I only made about 10 videos for stox. Six of those were among the 10 most popular videos at Stox for almost a year. Of course, a video being "good" is subjective; however, many people certainly were enjoying them. I can also say my videos at dragthebar.com are also the most viewed videos at the site.

In any case, I hope this book continues to help a lot of people who struggle with the mathematics behind good poker. I've been elated with the reviews so far.

Four 5 star reviews? If you're going to make fake accounts to bump up your ratings couldn't you at least make one of them a 4 star review?

I really can't empathize with someone's reasons for making this type of accusation. Regardless, none of these reviews is mine. And yes, the one is Dusty's review.

Btw qtips stox videos were fantastic. Especially his bio one.

Edit: Any plans for an ebook version.

You could be the Phil Freakin' Ivey of writing poker math books for all I know but when a guy comes on and say "Hey dudes, check out my four reviews on Amazon!" and they're all five star reviews from 4 users who have never written a review before I think we all have a right to be a little skeptical. Some people have done a fair amount of BS promotion on 2+2 before, you know.

FWIW I plan on checking your book out if and when some established posters write up some positive reviews in this forum.

Not slamming your effort at all, just saying that those Amazon reviews might need to be taken with a couple grains of salt. And to be fair, I do realize you were posting them in response to another poster's request.

Fair enough. If you do get a chance to check out the book, I hope you enjoy it and your game improves.

I was punished for answering the question about reviews (and you can see the links have been deleted), so I won't be able to respond to those types of questions here anymore.
