That's one advantage to getting the paperback version, I guess. Hopefully I'll get some of that run good mojo in the ebook as well.

I'm currently finishing one of his other excellent books before starting this one, but I'd like to point out that Ed is very responsive and helpful in addressing any issues. (My "issue" was my fault -- didnt have the format of ebook that I preferred on my iPad while traveling even though it was on my computer back home. He promptly emailed me a copy.)

Ed signed my book "Good Luck".

It's not about luck in my game, Ed.

Ordered this book. Had a problem with the code not unlocking it. Ed got back to me within 24 hours and took care of everything.

Thanks for the great customer service.
Cheers

Re: "Playing The Player" - Ed Miller

I guess that I'll go ahead and order this book for the $50. How to Read Hands by Miller has helped my game a lot so I was thinking that if I could combine the info from HTRH with the who, when and why from this book then that would probably elevate my game that much more.

Re: "Playing The Player" - Ed Miller

Has anybody read both Miller book and Owen "QTip" Gaines book? I purchased that one and where i thought it was ok it pretty much it did little to really improve my game. I wouldn't tell someone not to get Gaines book but I wouldn't put it on my must read list either.

I am wondering how this book is different. If it was $20 bucks I would snap it up but if it's not revolutionary I will wait for the almost certain price drop. I read several of Millers past books and I know he's an excellent writer I am just curious what makes this book better then some of the past stuff like Owen "QTip" Gaines book.

Re: "Playing The Player" - Ed Miller

For those that have read both the PTP and Hand Reading book, which would you suggest to read first ?

Also is the $20 off for both only if I buy from his site? I noticed that the Hand Reading book is now $36 on amazon. I'm trying to see if the total will be $50+$36-$20 or $50+$50-$20 ?

Htrh is a preamble to ptp. Htrh teaches you just that, how to read hands. Ptp tells you what to do about it. Ptp is more practical, but it makes more sense after htrh. Really, read them both, htrh then ptp.

I've gone through the book multiple times so far. I think it is my favorite book of his so far. Encourages you to really push tailored exploitative (non-GTO) play. I think I'll pick up a fair amount of money that I've left sitting on the table.

I'm going to start reading "How to read hands at no-limit", might consider this one next but I dunno if it's worth 50$...kinda expensive imo

Re: "Playing The Player" - Ed Miller

I purchased this book recently. I play mostly live low stakes home games these days and this was the first book I found which actually addresses specifically live low stakes NL games, along with much of the dynamics which lives games afford vs. online. I am also a fan of Ed Millers writing, ever since I read Small Stakes Holdem, probably the first decent poker book I ever read.

The book is very well written and has given me lots of tid bits of info on how to better exploit my opponents. Most of the profiling of the players is spot on for live games and anyone who has played live will instantly be familiar with much of what Ed Miller is talking about. It was nice to read about the TAG and find the author pretty much describing my main strategy points and how to beat myself basically.

I found the book helpful. Not sure it's worth $50, and I'm sure those who are patient enough will be able to pick this up later down the line at a much discounted price, but I will say it was a good read and had some valuable info for a recreational player lime myself.

Cliffs: Finally a good poker book for live games. A tad expensive though.

Re: "Playing The Player" - Ed Miller

If you play 1-2 or 2-5 at casinos then this book is a must read.

It completely changed my game and now I make money no matter how card dead i am.

I did read htrh as well but i liked this book a lot better. Its much more conversational.

This book teaches you to look for certain situations and how to make money from those situations.

It really is crazy how much money i was leaving on the table. If you really commit yourself to applying the principles in this book you will start crushing 1-2 and 2-5 at the casinos. I have been crushing the games for the past few months now.

Easy game now thanks so much for a great book Ed!

+1

I think the review is spot on. I got it. I think it's a well written useful book and is at the top end of what I would pay for a poker book.
