Mark Schmid (pimpindonks) SNG Guide

I have been playing quite a few small stakes SNG's lately and know I'm a winner at the games.

I just wondered if anyone had seen this guide and if so, what is the quality like?

Is it suitable for small stakes players? I feel I have a firm understanding of the basic concepts and some more complex spots already.

Is this a recommendable series?

Very grateful for any help,

Thanks

It's not bad but it's out dated a little bit.

Some of push/fold things are a little outdated imo. Even Collin Moshman's book is dated a little bit with what people are doing now a days. It's still pretty solid and I enjoyed the vids but I would spend the money on a coach vs getting it. Just my opinion.

Wouldn't something like Jonathan Little's Float the Turn training site for $8 a month be a better initial investment than any expensive system or coaching?

Re: Mark Schmid (pimpindonks) SNG Guide

Good SNG strategy (thought process/decision making) does not change because the format does not change. However just as with other forms of poker, players do progress and certain concepts become outdated and or require modification.

Collin's book is great still after all these years and 95% of it is still spot on. However, for example advice to shove ATC UTG for 5BB or less is now a bit outdated since many players view a 5BB UTG shove as wider than they did 6 years ago. Therefore the advice is fundamentally still correct but the range you should shove is now a bit different.

People planing to learn how to think about SNG's rather than follow some rote strategy will benefit even from older SNG materials. People looking for a magic bullet will likely not get the maximum out of them.

Get some good resources, learn to solve problems, and you will be fine with almost any good resource.
