I bought Inside The Poker Mind by John Feeney when it was first released and eventually got rid of it years ago. From what I remember, it really opened my eyes on a few concepts.

Since Ive been away from the game for awhile, Im curious if this book still be useful in today's poker world?

I believe Mason still thinks highly of it.

It is not on my shelf, but I am getting it.

Hi Everyone:

Not only do I think highly of Inside the Poker Mind but two of the chapters in my upcoming book, Real Poker Psychology, "Playing Too Many Hands" and "Ideas From Dr. Feeney" are directly derived from Inside the Poker Mind.

Best wishes,
Mason

And if you are wondering where to get it, professionalpoker.com has it for a really good price.

Look to the left at other links for how to find them.

Here is a review on the book.

http://www.jetcafe.org/npc/reviews/g...poker_mind.htm

Alan Schoonmaker says his publisher [2plus2] wanted a basic book [his] and an advanced book [Feeney's].

I'm sure it was partly due the learning stage I was in when I read it, but ITPM had a bigger impact on my development as a poker player than any other book.

I remembered Schoonmaker saying this which is why if someone asks about books, I put PoP first and then ITPM. Having read both books, I agree with Two Plus Two's view.
