102 in the bookshelf behind me. But that's not all of them, and doesn't count ebooks.

I have a 3 titles I have bought twice, then found, and two of them might be in that shelf, I didn't check. I don't count SS I and SS II as the same book, and have both of them.

Several dozen, but that's just my nature. I'm sure that a person who wasn't so obsessive-compulsive could easily get by with just a few.

You can get some of them as pirated ebooks.

But if you have a kindle or iphone/ipad with the kindle app, you can get them from Amazon, and the going rate seems to have crashed. A lot of them are <$10 as ebooks for kindle.

I have 11 kindle books in my iphone in my pocket. Bliss.

I began by buying poker books, but really the best way to improve is online training sites, or even just reading the strategy forums here in 2+2, the latter costing you nothing.

Owning higher number of books != better understanding of game.

Everyone "learns" differently, though, so the on-line training is not "always" the best option. And the real book total is 47, though I have gotten rid of a few less than stellar titles (hellooo Phil Hellmuth).

Wow! Would you describe yourself more of a collector or a connoisseur of poker literature? What are some of your favorite books?

"How many poker books have you bought so far? "

All of them.

At one point about 5 years ago I owned every poker instructional book currently in print, and many that were out of print.

Haven't kept up my buying since Black Friday, but my library is big.

I'm a book collector, I guess.

Which books do I like?

In no particular order:
According to Doyle (now "Poker Wisdom of a Champion", I think). More about life than poker

Biggest Game in Town - I read the serialisation in a paper as a 12 year old

The Making of a Poker Player - Seriously good. The "Jesus problem" is mind-blowing.

Maths of Poker - If I were left with one book, this would be the one I chose, obv.

Play Poker, Quit Work and Sleep Till Noon - mainly for the brags.

HoH 2 - possibly the best poker book ever, in terms of the impact of inflection point theory

Education of a Poker Player - classic stories by a poker playing code breaker

Thanks for the list. What is the "Jesus" problem in Matt's book?

You are playing 1-2nl live with Chris Ferguson. Effective stacks are 50k (!).

He opens to 5 in the SB and accidentally exposes his hand. Two black aces. You point this out and get a ruling that the hand is live.

I hope it's obvious that you aren't raising. What is your calling range?
