Hey all!

I've been out of the poker game for a while, but I'm looking to get back in. When I was playing I was playing NL hold'em cash games exclusively, first full ring and then 6-max. I slowly built my bankroll and moved up in stakes. I never went busto and took sever cash outs for much more than my original deposit. I'm not a table crusher by any stretch, but "I've never gone busto" is a lot more than 90% of poker players can say.

Then I started playing PLO. I guess that's all I really have to say. PLO ate my bankroll, and I've been out of the game for a while.

I'd like to get back into the game, but NL hold'em ring games are filled with short stackers who, not matter how many pins I put in my voodoo dolls, just refuse to all go die in a grease fire.

So I'm thinking of getting back via head's up cash games and head's up sit-n-goes. I need to polish my game as I was never a head's up specialist. I prefer books over videos.

Here's a lit of books I've found on head's up no limit:

Heads-Up No-Limit Hold 'em by Collin Moshman
Expert Heads Up No Limit Hold'em Vol I by Will Tipton
Expert Heads Up No Limit Hold'em Vol II by Will Tipton

Are there others? What order should I read them in?

Thanks,

phy

So I ordered the Tipton books off amazon. I wish I could say it was off of the forum's recommendation, but crickets.

Anything else I should look at?

Found this thread about the first Tipton book and this thread about the second Tipton book.

Are there other books? Just mention the title. I'll find the review thread myself...

I've seen the Moshman book recommended elsewhere but not the Tipton books. Is that because the Moshman book is actually a better primer, or because the Tipton books are "new?"

And here is a review thread of the Moshman book.

From going over the review threads it seems like the Moshman book is more of a broad, introductory primer and the Tipton books are more theory.

Makes me wish I had bought the Moshman book first and not the Tipton books. Oh well, I knew I'd be getting the Moshman book soon anyway. I'll shelve the Tipton books until I get my hands on the Moshman book.

And since this forum is Books and Pubs, there's a free e-book here from HUSNG.com. I've been browsing that while waiting for my books to arrive.

I've bought Vol 1 tipton book a month ago and this was my first book which introduced me to GTO. It had completely different approach than I did, but the most valuable thing I learned is how to analyze hands and opponents.

For me, the best way to improve in HU is to analyze tough regs and go through all match talking about difficult spots.

I was never busto too, but haven't moved up much in last 3 years. Trying to change that now.

What stakes, site, games do you play?

The Tipton books are so good. If you like the book you can look into the videos that go with it.
