For those who like non-fiction poker books, Fading Hearts On The River by Brooks Haxton is out. It is the story of his son, Isaac.

This book is part biography (of Isaac Haxton), part autobiography (of Brooks Haxton), part poker instructional, part argument for regulating poker, and wholly enjoyable.

Read it also, excellent writing and a great story narrated from the perspective of a father who sees his son overcoming obstacles since the start of his life to becoming one of the best high stakes poker players. Really like it, i recommend it.

Found it almost unreadable.
Some passages were interesting, but I think the author is still having after-effects from smoking weed--could he wander any more in this thoughts?
I lost all respect for the author as a parent when he recounted their decision to not treat Ike for his hip problem.
"It sounded like torture."
" Now, no one notices that one of his legs is slightly shorter than the other"
You mean that limp because the hip is not reduced, and will most likely require hip replacement surgery in the future?
So glad I could return this book to the library.
