It's usually cheaper to order from Amazon and pay the delivery costs, especially if you're ordering several things at once, but even for individual books if they're more expensive than paperbacks. Otherwise Abbey's in Sydney will order anything for you if you can tell them the publisher, and most bookstores will order anything that is carried by the distributor they use (you won't know whether that's the case until you ask them whether the book is in their database - if it is, their distributor can get it for them, if not, move on to the next store. Do this by phone unless you need the exercise. Some stores hook their web site up to their distributor database, as opposed to a separate database just used for their web site, which means you can just search their site, but I'm not sure which ones do this. Phone is more reliable).
