I think that this kind of misses the point. I think that if information is good, then one needs to understand that information just to break even. That information kind of becomes the base. To beat the game one has to go beyond that base, but that doesn't mean that you can bypass the base knowledge. That would be magic bullet/unicorn thinking.

And yes I think Miller's later comments in interviews provide a better context for the value the book has. In fact he clearly states "this isn't what I do in my 2/5 game" in one of his interviews. He doesn't exactly say that in the forward to 1%
