At $10, this book is incredible. No wonder games are getting tough. This book is literally the best book that I would recommend for anyone who wants to learn NLHE from scratch. I've read over 50 poker books, and none go quite as in-depth or are quite as precise as this book. A lot of them allude to things, but then don't explain them, or are actually rushed works which lack any depth. I am shocked this book hasn't received much higher praise already.

I think it's a shame that this book has gotten some stick due to an unfortunate choice of title for his video series on another site, I blame the marketing on that, not the quality of the content.

Seriously, this book + his free videos on thepokerbank .com could turn a total novice into a winner. It's basically an entire poker education for $10, amazing.

Split is the creator of a video series on DailyVariance (DV), which DV titled 'the 100k system' for marketing purposes... this marketing tactic was called out by a number of people as being a lie, or close to a lie, as it is pretty hard to achieve that result at small stakes alone.

The quality of the book and his videos have never been called into question, just the title of the video series. A lot of people can't understand that this is essentially an ad hominem way of disregarding a very high quality book.

If I were split, I would actually request a change in title, so that the series title matches his book title, so as to avoid this pitfall in the future.

I see, thanks for explanation. Well I guess this depends on the contract he has/had with the particular site.

Anyway I bought the book and seems very very solid ! I hope it will help me with answering/discovering to a main question in particular situations/strategies/tactics >> 'WHY?'

Maybe poker players don't care, but in my opinion this book would have benefited from an editor. I like the contents so far, but it wouldn't have taken much to improve the orthography and style. This refers to the Kindle edition.

Just bought this today for $10.
That's €7.90 in real money )
(Less than two pints of Guinness)

That is amazing value for a book from someone who produced those quality pokerbank videos. Looking forward to reading it.

my only complaint w/ the Kindle version of the book was that the Pokerstove or Flopzilla graphics were near impossible to read.
between the greyscale & the small/fuzzy font, it was tough to make much sense out of them.

that being said, the book was actually the reason I bought the Kindle in the first place.
I figured if I could save $30+ on a single poker book, paying $80 for a refurb'd Touch was +ev

enjoyed the book a lot, and learned a lot from it.

<-- microstakes moron & nobody.

Wow...never expected my book would be an influence on someone buying a Kindle. Sorry that the pokerstove/flopzilla screenshots sucked on the Kindle though =(

I bought the book for my Nook and the graphics are really not worth a look.

But, really, you can sort of make out what they mean if you go outside on a sunny day (you need bright natural light) with a magnifying glass and a pen and paper tablet. You can usually replicate enough of it so that you can refer to what you've drawn when you go back inside and try to read the book. And, no, I'm not kidding; I actually did this. Several times.

wtf?? u serious about a magnifying glass?

im on kindle and have not had trouble reading one chart yet. well iam actually on a ipad, then kindle app, maybe thats why. on ipad u can click the tables and it enlarges and centers itself.

still a good book thus far, have been taking my time with it and plan to go through it more than once. im not in a huge rush because i havent been playing cash in quite awhile and not sure if i will soon or not.

cash is gross though huh? solid cash players crush solid tourney players in a vacuum when comparing hourlies eh?

well, except for being completely different, that's pretty much exactly the same thing.

Yes, I am serious about the magnifying glass because I'm reading it on a NOOK and NOT a KINDLE. I have seen the book [briefly] on my iPad [and the charts and graphics were impressive], because my wife let me look at it before she appropriated the damned thing for her own use. When I plead with her to let me use my iPad, she responds by telling me to use the nice Nook she bought me. Life is strange.

Thanks, Husker, you just won $20 for me -- 10 bucks each from two of my kids who didn't believe I could elicit your reaction (or one like it) in less than a paragraph. I think it was a pretty cheap (albeit entertaining) psych lesson at the price.

posted to say I picked it up a couple of weeks ago. it was real cheap so i figured why not. skimmed through it, tons and tons of pages even for a kindle. lots of info, in the next week or two I ll start readin git when I have time.

i assume it targets all the way up to 100NLonline maybe even 1-2 live
