If you're a person that's considered to be in the public, the rules are different than if that is not the case. It's my opinion that for Hellmuth to sue successfully, he would have to show that this title was probably damaging to his business or personal reputation, and that's something an experienced intellectual property attorney could give a better opinion on than me.

I'm a poker player, coach and writer. I did most of the actual writing of the book, along with the math and did my best to get the most out of Dusty's strategic mind. The vast majority of strategy advice comes from Dusty, as in the past I've played primarily Limit Holdem. So if you have a problem with the words or numbers, that's my fault. If you have a problem with the concepts or examples, it's Dusty's.

Wrong. If anything it would be libel or defamation. "Slander" is spoken. Additionally, the first affirmative defense to any allegation of slander/defamation is truth; thus, Hellmuth's hypothetical claim would be defeated on its face. More reasons to love the title.

I don't believe advice, i.e., "Don't listen to Phil Hellmuth" can be anything.

If there was the slightest chance of a legal action against this sort of thing, Rush Limbaugh probably would have taken it against Al Franken for "Rush Limbaugh Is a Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations."
