I have a collection of almost 50 poker books (half of them published by twoplustwo) that I acquired over the years, and haven't touched the game in forever. Since I'll be moving I thought I might like to sell them off. Anyone have any experience or recommendations for selling a lot of poker books? I imagine posting a for sale sign in this forum is a no-no, but I hope I should be able to have a discussions of what has worked for people, e.g. ebay lots vs. individual amazon marketplace sales vs. gambler's book stores vs. goodwill (lol), etc.?

I once gave a 40+ poker book collection to a charity shop.

Two benefits:

1. The money raised goes to charity.

2. All the hassle of selling books and all it entails is avoided.

There is a marketplace on the forums here if you want to sell them here:

Other than that, individually you will get the most money on any site you list them on. If you don't care about the money and just want to get rid of them, list them in bulk.

Used book store: The one where I live takes used books in at least fair condition. No ripped up coffee stained books obviously. This is not a charity shop, just a small locally owned business. They give store credit which can be used to purchase any book on their shelves up to half the cost of the book. I have 'sold' and bought many books this way. Since you said you're moving this may not be the best option. I don't think many of those places give cash, but it might be worth a quick phone call at least.

Your local library - many libraries have used books sales where the sale proceeds benefit the library directly. A worthy cause in my opinion.

I will probably be pruning my poker book collection and the clunkers will probably go to "friends."

a few books have held value on a used retail pricing basis but not many.

i'd be shocked if you could get $40 for the lot.... nobody wants the lot either. they'll just dispose of the duds - i.e. see next paragraph.

give them away or figure out which have some value and give all the rest away. take the ones with value and offer them on one of the used book sites (all the ones i know start with A - 3 of them, two are affiliated but separate) below the best offer. see some $$$ flow in.

Since you didn't notice, I thought I should tell you I bumped an old thread.
