Well, I took notes and watched the videos 2-3 times. That's how I got to absorb them.

I agree. I bought the videos and found it quite hard to follow.

Would buying the book help supplement the videos?

Just found the link for more info, it has a $750 price tag so you have to be serious. That said I've heard nothing but amazing things about it from everyone who has read it. Its still far out of my price range though.

The original price of Supersystem, in inflation-adjusted dollars, was $297.98.

Less than half the price of this book, and written by Doyle Brunson. I'm not sure the comparison stands.

Edit: Not that I'm arguing that the book is not worth the money, everyone who paid for it seems to feel it was worth their money. Simply stating that I do not make enough money playing poker (in fact I haven't made any) to justify a purchase for myself. :P

The videos are a bit much all at once, but very insightful and definitely worth watching over again.

His viewpoints on 4 betting seem a bit outdated.

Example: 100 bb's 1-2NL:

you make it 6, opponent 3 bets it 24, he uses 4 betting to 75 and explains
you really cant fold to a shove with most hands......Most people now 4 bet
to 50, and dont price themselves in.

Bobbo charges $350/hr for coaching.
http://www.leggopoker.com/coaches/BobboFitos/

but aejones charges $1,500/hour.
http://www.leggopoker.com/coaches/aejones/
I wonder if he'd agree to $1,400/hour if you offered it to him?

Get those DVDs and you can save the money on the book. The difference is too marginal to spend that much money on it.

The book is the nuts. I'm an SSNL player and it is great. I've read most of the other ebooks and bobbo's is more mathematical and optimal-focused than the others.

It is definitely worth $750. This 'bible' gives a thorough rundown of poker from A-Z and will have you beating at least 100NL just from reading it.

Anyone who read it will agree.

The book is good and I have read a few similar books so I am comparing to those. I have also been getting coaching from Bobbo and the two go together nicely and have more than paid for themselves.

There is supposed to be an updated version of the book coming to address the biggest shortcomings which are the editing and presentation which needs some work although the actual content is already very good. The update was due around now but not sure if that is still on schedule, perhaps Rob can comment on this if there is an update coming soon.

Yep if you 4bet that big people will always put you on AK so maybe I should try it with AA/KK sometime.

Why not use the private forum on Leggo if you bought the book?

Some of us bought the book long before leggo ever existed and never got around to getting access ... But I'm guessing we are very few

If you bought the book and never bothered to PM Bobbo for forum access, you are doing yourself a disservice. The forum is free for you and it's good.

true but even $100 70s bucks is of the same order of magnitude as this book at $750. Not sure the amount of content is comparable though as supersystem is a very thick book.

Just did the calculation and $100 in 1970 is now worth $330 today.

I think there is something else to be aware of though. What is the opportunity to profit? In the 1970s you were not necessarily going to print money from supersystem due to the infrequency and inaccessibility of games. Internet poker is definitely a larger opportunity.

It wasn't published in 1970
