Re: Zoom Poker thread

^ From what I can tell, just play as ABC as possible.
Zoom is still super swingy though.

I was trying out what a previous poster had suggested: shoving AA preflop and limping all other pp's and shoving sets on the flop

Ugh, its brutal man, I've had so many overpair vs sets and overpair vs overpair, etc situations....

Re: Zoom Poker thread

zooom isn't more swingy.

It just feels like it because you get more hands/hour. I would be very surprised if the SD was significantly different between zoom and regular tables.

And yes, just play regular normal poker. Don't do those kind of stupid stuff, there is no reason it should work at zoom and not at other games.

Re: Zoom Poker thread

I was just trolling (regarding jamming AA preflop) - Just play it normally (3x open / 3bet etc...)

Confirmed same SD in Zoooom as my normal tables. Turns out I have been nitting up a bit though running at 20/16.

Do you not think that there is a higher proportion of coolers, because most of the players on Zoom are really tight?
Last time I checked, the average players/flop % on Zoom was much lower than standard tables, so the big pots are basically just sets versus overpairs.
With so few flops being seen, there's not much chance to actually outplay a villain.
I think that's another reason why I'm not a fan. Table selection is one of my key skills. (Yes, even at 2NL, I feel the need to table select carefully). Obviously you can't select a table on Zoom so you have fish on your right and nits on your left. With Zoom, your position in relation to nits and fish is entirely random. Ergo, there is more luck involved.

Re: Zoom Poker thread

Bahaha - just lost 4 BI's @ 10NL to a large amount of coolers:

Hand #1 - Managed to 4B AA - Pot of ~$12 with $5 remaining stacks - Flop Jxx - I jam my last $5 and villian shows KJ - River is a King.

Hand #2 - Raise 77 In MP - Flop 7TT - I cbet - Villian raises, I 3bet, Villian jams and shows 99 - Turn T

Hand #3 - I raise 8s7s in CO - get called by SB/BB - Flop is KTs9s - SB bets 1/3 pot, BB min raises - I flat, SB Flats - Turn is a spade (Yay! Frush!) - Checks to me so I bet, SB folds, BB jams I call and BB shows JQss

nah,

cooler are cooler because they are unavoidable. You aren't getting any more or less AA vs KK and stuff like that because people would play those hands anyway.

As for outplaying your opponents, I find there are plenty of room to do it. Of course I can't compare with how normal 2 or 5 NL tables are, perhaps they are more lose, but I don't think zoom is particular tight.

That being said I have nittet up considerably when playing zoom so players might be more tight. I guess it is to easy to fold junk from BTN when you really should wait and see if it is folded to you. This holds true for CO as well I think.

My problem though is that I expect high star players to do clever things to beat me, not **** things. If I played the way they are playing, I wouldnt be supernova, Id be busto. They should be too.
Most of the Supernovas and Platinum players play above 10nl, they are most likely just screwing around to experience the software. Once Stars adds higher stakes you should see less of those players around.

Once HUDs are working it will help as well.

Re: Zoom Poker thread

My biggest problems so far, coolers and beats obviously but worst after I raise pre with AK, flop a K or an A, get it in and then find they had AA or KK and limped pre. Shoot these ****ers who limp KK/AA please!
