Zoom / Rush Poker thread

Ive been playing at 2nl and 5nl so far. What a weird game! LOTS of supernova playing them which is a minus. Dont fast fold when you are the CO/BTN/SB cause you can steal - well, thats what I was told but it isnt true. I never managed to steal once in about 500 hands. not ONCE! And the stupid supernovas robbed me KK < QQ, QQ < AQ etc. How is it that they can stack off so light and be supernova?

Anyway. Anyone got any good tactics? How many tables is good to play? I was on 2 and it was fairly bouncing along! Does anyone know how to configure HEM to run for zoom yet?

at the rush if i seen a reg raise & i thought it might be a big hand & get to show down i would sitout & watch & hope it got to showdown & make a note of there hand & position.
after a few of these notes u will have a better idea of there range. goodluck to u sir

I never played much Rush, and I haven't played any Zoom, but shouldn't we expect stealing to be less successful in these games?

When you raise the BTN in a 'normal' game, the blinds, bless them, are sitting there with any two cards, and are ripe for the taking. But at a Zoom table, if they're still sitting there, they've chosen not to turbo-muck, so their ranges are going to be stronger aren't they? Or am I missing something?

You don't know they've pre-folded until the action gets to them. (Nobody folds out of turn).

I think they plan on doing it in the future (check the pokerstars round table thread in the zoo).

Lee jones was hinting about it.

I wish they had quick fold BB, I don't see the harm in it.

Re: Zoom Poker thread

you cant quick fold the big blind. i think thats a problem. but 2x or 2.5x from the btn must be profitable.

They didn't have quick fold on BB at tilt either. Thats problem.

I haven't tried it yet but I presume it is mostly nitty grinders playing and not the recreational fish. Is anyone finding 2NL Zoom has attracted the fish yet?

It's hilariously fishy.. I've spun the ~$6 in my old Stars account into $65 in the last 3 hours

It will be interesting to see if the normal non-zoom tables become softer

Jeez! That's more than I've made in 3 months!

I'll be on soon and you can expect me to be back here whining about ridiculous bad beats in a few hours. ;)

Ah, right, that makes a lot more sense, certainly. Thanks for clarifying.

Re: Zoom Poker thread

the differing stack sizes make for an interesting dynamic. How much risk are you prepared to take Or...how many chips are you comfortable with in front of you as there will always be someone with a bigger stack. I couldnt work out a good solution for this so sat out when I was at 2.5 BI's what are your thoughts on BRM when playing ZOOM

A.Ertbjerg 03-16-2012 06:56 PM

Re: Zoom Poker thread

Learn to play deep would be the best choice I think.

In terms of BRM I don't think it matters much.
