Somethings got a give, I don't know his financials but 5 years ago when I went to china to visit him he had a driver/maids now he has nothing Im fairly sure hes broke/going into debt. Telling him that baccarat is not a beatable game was like talking to a brick wall.

If it can't be me telling him maybe I can direct him to something

Direct him to what, poker? A degenerate wants to lose money. He could likely play baccarat for the lowest possible stakes and not lose more than he can afford, but he doesn't do that. Say you taught him to beat 1/2NL live, he'd play 5/10 PLO instead and probably lose quicker than baccarat.

You know your old man better than me, but if he's intent on ruining his life and won't listen to your informed opinion, I'm not sure what you can do about it. Is there anyone else close to him you can go through, do an intervention or something?

Jeez that sucks Bitchibee. You need to get the opinion of someone professional imo. He's a high level exec, how come the maths of gambling evades him? He believes that good luck overcomes the maths?

Finding the reason why he thinks he can win as opposed to drilling with him why he can't would be the first place I would start. That means listening to him without criticising or attacking his point of view. Try to get a clear picture on his views on gambling.

It's not much different to people with money who decide to take up day trading. It is near impossible to talk them out of it even if they are losing tens of thousands a month as they believe the big swing is just around the corner. Think of how fish think at a poker table except bring the stakes up by a few orders of magnitude.

Edit: Your best approach would be to talk to a professional for advice. You can have the best of intentions and try as hard as you can but certain approaches will work and others won't and only people who deal with these issues would be able to point you in the right direction.

Add vodka for a Black Russian, and optionally milk or cream for a White Russian.

One time, back when I was young and used to go out drinking all night (as opposed to staying in and drinking all night), after having drunk enough pints of beer that I wanted a change, someone suggested a White Russian, so our friendly bar tender started pouring me pints of them

No I meant the wine was really bad.

I buy the kahlua specifically for white russians, i love them! Sadly i haven't yet replenished all the vodka i drank over xmas and new year.

I usually hate coke as a mixer but don't mind black russians.

I don't normally drink vodka but I picked up a litre of Finlandia duty free, because it was 16 USD compared to whatever absurd price it costs in Australia. *

So those black Russians might happen, Kahlua is nice like that. Oh and KGBs (Kahlua, Grand Marnier, Baileys) are frikking awesome, like an orange chocolate milkshake except if you drink a large glass you get fukked up.

Checked, so 16 USD was 20 AUD when I bought it. A 700 ml bottle is 35 AUD so I guess 50 AUD a litre or something. Spirits are ridic expensive here.
