That's against their Terms of Service, and they will delete that account if they find out about it and (I believe) transfer your money back to your main account. Just email them and see if you're linked to an affiliate or not.

I have a question if someone can possibly take the time to answer..I have looked..but, I think I'm missing something somewhere.

Can someone please explain to me the difference between how many big blinds you need to move up a level and how many buy ins? When people talk about buy ins, do they mean the minimum buy in, or max?

For example, if I was starting with 5 bucks and playing .01/.02c FR, what level of profit am I looking to achieve before I move up to .02/.05?

I know bankroll is key in this, but, I working on the assumption of someone starting with just 5 bucks.

When talking about BR requirements, you should use the amount you plan on sitting at the table with. So, if you're buying in for 100bb at 1c/2c, the buy-in is $2. If you're buying in full (which you should) at one of the 250bb tables, it's $5. However, most people are refering to the standard 100bb buy-in that is the max in most cases.

BR requirements are meseaured in Big Bets for limit games. The standard is having 300 big bets for the next level before moving up.

You play No limit correct?

For no limit:
The standard amount of buy-ins is 20. (100bb stacks) So for $0.02/$0.05 you would need $100 ($0.05x100 = $5 x 20 = $100)

Yeah, like Cruzer said, you need to think in buy-ins if you're playing no-limit, not big blinds.

Also, when you you start considering dropping back down a level, in these simple terms we are sticking to?

$200 for 10nl, right. If you go on a large downswing step back down.

After reading this thread and the "build your roll" thread that is in this forum, I moved my $100 from Full Tilt to Pokerstars today. Here's hoping BR management is one of the steps that makes me a better poker player ;-)

not a big poster on here, but read 2p2 every day. i just took some of my br from ps and moved $600 to ftp.

i've signed up with raketherake.com and was planning to 4 table NL25; however, the rakeback calculator begins with NL50.

does anyone know how long it would take to clear the $600 bonus at NL25 averaging about 16-20 hours a week?

also, i may move over the remaining $800 from ps, so how about $11sngs? i would guess the bonus would take much longer if i was playing say 20 to 40 sngs per day.

i think this is a personal decision. it comes down to your goals.

are you looking to move up in stakes or supplement your income with profits from the level you're currently playing? or might you do both?

once i've established a healthy br of at least 50 bis at the current level (and i don't have plans to take a shot at higher stakes, or i simply need the money!), i will withdraw 50% of my monthly profits and leave 50% to grow my roll.

this method allows me to have some cash and add a cushion to my br requirements.
