What do you think of Cake Poker?

Im playing microstakes tourneys, and sitngos. I can't say the money is coming in easy, no poker is definitely not a way to make easy money for me, definitely a total grind.

But the players I was playing today were shockingly bad. Since Im doing tourneys, and that includes ones with rebuys, I usually rather double my stack or bust out early, rather than paying for extra chips in the first round. I do that also because you get a lot more chips for the same price later in the round.

So what I do is I wait for a Sklansky or Hellmuth Group1 or Group 2 hands (Pocket Jacks, KQs, AKo, AKs, AA, KK, QQ, etc.) and Ill shove all in on them, and usually get someone to bite.

THe part that was surprising to me was the people would bite with some horrible hands. I got one to call with Q4s against my AKo. I got another to call a AKs with something like K5o.

Today I lost in a tournament where I did the same strategy where I shove all in on a great preflop hand, and the hands that called me were incredibly fishy but as the flop turn and river went, they still won. Otherwise I was doing great in that Tournament.

I dunno maybe I just signed on at peak hours for bad players, but the players that are playing for real money to me, are on the same level as facebook players.

Re: What do you think of Cake Poker?

Its about the same the low level tournies on most US sites are full of bad players why are you complaining about players who are soo willing to give you their chips??
So my suggestion would be to buy as many chips as you can starting off, becuase even though you save money by easily doubling up early its much better to double up with the full buy in.

Also these tournies are high variance just accept that.

What exactly is your question? You gotta do better than ask a super general question in the title and then have the rest your post mostly ranting about playing with players you think are bad....and how you can beat ( and sometimes lose with a better preflop hand) them by playing premium hands, who would of thought that would work

Sounds like Cake Poker is a great place to be... and you logged on at the perfect time..

Time to stop being individual tournament results oriented, and putting in enough volume to take advantage of the bad players...

That, and proper bankroll management so that a few bad tournament results don't hurt your BR at all

Re: What do you think of Cake Poker?

1. Rebuy right away.
2. A lot of players gamble it up during rebuy. That's great for shoving premiums so deal with the micro beats and quit whining. Q4s called a shove. Fantastic! But you're bitching. Maybe you should try crazy 8s or rummy. If you can't beat "facebook players" its time to play something else.
No one likes a whiner and you play too small of stakes to bitch about your luck. If you must play poker work on yor game and man up.

start being less results orientated. You should be happy people are calling you down with hands that are worse than yours. Welcome to variance
