    Poker Stars, $2 Buy-in (200/400 blinds, 50 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 9 Players

    SB: 4,510 (11.3 bb)
    BB: 11,157 (27.9 bb)
    UTG+1: 16,321 (40.8 bb)
    UTG+2: 17,851 (44.6 bb)
    MP1: 9,790 (24.5 bb)
    MP2: 5,570 (13.9 bb)
    MP3: 5,000 (20.5 bb)
    CO: 40,369 (100.9 bb)
    Hero (BTN): 23,166 (57.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 7 7
4 folds, MP3 raises to 1,200. Action to Hero.

No ICM considerations or player reads to consider.

Folding is probably too nitty. I'd think we could maybe fold 22-55 to a 3x open?

We can flat to set mine but we're going to have to fold to a cbet on almost every flop.

Jamming looks okay, but vs a 3x open I think it's unlikely MP3 is folding. His range is uncapped.

it's either gii or fold, you don't have the odds to flat - given who's bolded i'm going to guess that the BB got it in and doubled through you

IMO, flatting with 77 is not purely set mining. Flat and play poker post flop. If BB shoves behind you, fold.

Facing a 3x open, this is an easy fold for me. I don't do much calling at 20bb eff. I think you probably need something like 99+/JTs+ (or even tighter) to flat even vs a minraise, because you're basically looking to flop strong sets, two pairs, overpair, TPGK or a combo draw and then you're playing for stacks. Calling 3bb and then folding 85% of flops isn't very +EV.

No offense Arty, but (if you get HU OTF), why on earth are you folding 85% of the time when you probably have the best hand at least 40% of the time AND you have position?

IMO that's way too nitty with stack balance at this table and at this point in the tournament.

77 realizes equity very badly (and it's a horrible hand to bluff with in most post-flop situations) and I like winning.
If you're calling a c-bet with something like 3rd pair no draw, you're not going to make money.
