My future isn't tied up with poker. I hope to continue doing well and hopefully better, but I haven't any inclination to do more than that.
Hard to say how many times I busted, but it was a few. 5 or 6 times maybe.
I'm still not going to claim I 'get it', but I definitely get more of it than I used to.

This is a hard one, as there isn't a single magic formula / answer to be had imo.
I've had lots of good advice, a lot in these forums tbh, and from other 2+2ers.
For me personally the thing that maybe made the most difference was following the suggestion to play other poker games than hold'em.

1 Talking about hands with your friends (face to face) - AIM/skype mostly for me tbh.
2 Hand analysis (on your own)
3 Play a lot of hands.
4 Reading a lot of books
5 Posting hands on 2p2
6 Getting a Coach
7 Watching a lot of videos (on cardrunners, ducescracked, whatever).

1 Polar Bear
2 Saltwater Crocodile
3 Tiger
4 Great White Shark (your house is full of water)
5 Wolf
6 Python
7 Komodo Dragon
Polar bear especially and most likely the crocodile would be really hard to deal with at close quarters I think.
Provided the house isn't totally empty - i.e. had furniture / implements etc available I think I have a chance against the tiger and the wolf, similar body mass.
The shark I am dead meat against in an olympic swimming pool, in a house where it has to get around corners etc I'm not so sure.
Python / komodo dragon I think I'm OK with unless ambushed first.

Not sure I fully understand the question. If it's a choice between my arms and playing poker, then poker is only a game, so it's a pretty easy decision.

IMO its close, but I think that the US has a bigger population of fish, and a bigger population of sharks.
Which mods would you ban if you could?
You don't really expect me to answer that now I'm a fully paid up member of the dark side, do you ?
Why are you afraid to play in SHENANIGANS and SHANOOBIGANS?
Shenanigans is at a terrible time for me, which is why I've only played it a couple of times. Shanoobigans is a different story - for right now I've decided not to play. That is with regret though, and I certainly would advise other people to play it. I've said before that I think playing those games helped make me into a much better player.
Which team will win the uHUNLA and why?
BOAC will win, because I am on that team.
Which team will finish last and why?
I'm fully expecting team Bona to lose - no particular reason, just a feeling ...
Tell us about your poker learning curve.
I will come back to this one.

It got a bit hot after I fell off, I can tell you that much.
Is the bat cave really a cave, or is it just a normal house that you refer to as a "cave"?
It's a real cave, ldo.
What was going through your head when you were 3 handed at EPT London last year with David Williams and Devilfish? Were you nervous, or confident you would crush them?
I was nervous, to be honest. Pretty much up until that point even the run up to the FT and down to 4 or 5 handed I felt that I was playing well, and that I wasn't -EV to the rest of the table.
I do play live, but like most 2+2ers, the vast majority of my poker is online, so I don't count myself as hugely experienced. When it got 3 handed I was plainly very inexperienced compared to Devilfish and David Williams. Devilfish had been on my left for a fair while at this point, talking at me incessantly, and I felt that he was getting reads on me.
If you were in charge of FTP 2.0, what would you do to get players to come back?
FTP 2 needs to offer lower rake, and it needs to incentivize the recreational player. IMO the usual methods of hard to clear deposit bonuses and lotto style freerolls, where you can expect to play for 10 hours to cash for $50 if you run super good, are tired. What to do as an alternative I'm not too sure, but I think special tournament series / challenges with overlays are a good idea, and recreational players seem to like stuff like bad beat jackpots / billionth hand promos etc, so stuff like them & a payout for a straight flush or being in a hand that is quads vs quads etc.
Will you be attending any Olympic events this summer, or will you be avoiding the whole mess (especially those annoying tourists)?
I am totally avoiding the Olympics (though I am working at the moment on some back office systems related to the games).
Why doesn't Mrs Bat play poker? Is it because you won't take the time to teach her to play?
She keeps saying that she wants to learn, but then never does for some reason. I have offered to teach her many times.

3) What adjustments are you making late in plo mtts with a big stack? With a short stack? I know we've discussed this a bit before.. but if I ask here, I'll have a place to review it later :-D. I find myself able to do fairly well in plo mtts but find myself having no clue what hands to push hard with 10-20bb.
|
Devilfish was, well Devilfish I guess. He talks an awful lot, but by and large he was fairly funny and OK with the other players. He berated the floor and the TD incessantly though, and was pretty out of hand.
David Williams seemed like a super nice guy to me.
At those stack sizes You have to be playing hands that have strength on their own - Premium pairs with other broadways, hopefully sooted. Any AAxx or KKxx. These hands you try to get it in PF if you can.
Hands with a lot of floppability - lower suited rundowns, pair + connected cards etc you can play if you can get to see a flop without it being a 3bet pot - basically calling in position / opening on the btn.
