Say we are in the BB, facing an all in from the SB.

We have 9BBs & then there's the BB that's no longer in our stack, but part of the pot.

Does that count as our BB? As in, do we have 10BBs or 9?

Hope I've explained this ok, starting to use charts for allins & would be helpful for me to know this, thanks

Money in the pot is no longer yours. When considering pot odds or EV, you only consider the cost of future action.

Not really sure what you need to know this for. If he has 10 or more, you have to put 9 in the pot in order to call, because that is all you have. If he goes all-in for 6, you only have to put in 5 more, because you already have put in 1. If you are going to fold, you will be left with 9. If you are thinking about pot odds, you consider how much you have to put in compared to how much you will win if you win. You don't have to put in the BB that you've already put in - so it counts as part of the pot, but not part of your stack.

Oh, I was specifically wondering so that I could know how to call when looking at a push fold chart.
ie. this http://www.pushfoldcharts.com/headsup/

Whether or not, when it says I have 9 BBs, and then there's my BB from being in the BB...whether it counts as me having 10 according to the chart, or whether it's 9, affecting which hands I call with.

I think from what you're saying it means I have 9bbs, and I call according to that, and I don't count my BB that has been put into the pot.

For most push-fold charts, the effective stack is considered before the blinds and antes are paid. (So you'd look at 10bb on a push-fold chart for this spot).

It's confusing, because if you were doing an EV calculation for whether it's profitable to call a jam, you'd use 9bb as the size of your call into a 20.5bb (plus antes) pot.
