Some meandering questions from someone getting back into poker. Some meandering questions from someone getting back into poker.

Hey, I haven't been on these forums in quite a while. I used to have another acc on here and I don't remember the info so I'll just be using this account.

I imagine quite a few of these questions are dumb questions that could be asked in the official dumb questions thread but I'm posting here just so I have a concise answers to the questions that I have. If there are any threads that address this stuff link me to it if you will.

I was a learning players several years ago, profitable but I kinda gave up too soon. Recently deposited about $40 and I have a roll of $70 currently over a couple hundred games of 6max turbos and DoNs on Carbon Poker. I'm interested in becoming the best player I can and plugging whatever leaks and lacks of understanding of basic fundamentals I don't have. What are the best ways to go about this these days? Back in the day, I recall posting up hands and discussing them in places like the STTF section was good? Are there still a decent amount of players that do this sort of stuff?

In order to best learn from my sessions I probably need to utilize some sort of tracking software. I've been using Poker Copilot on trial and it seems simple which is rather nice, but it also seems to not track my tournament results well in a concise and comprehensive manner so I'm finding it hard to go back and review hands. What poker software should I be looking into for this?

Also, as an American, I'm playing on Carbon on the Merge Network, is this my best bet or should I be looking to move elsewhere ASAP?

I guess I have other dumb questions that need asking but I'll leave it at this for now. Also sorry for the weird manner in which I'm asking all these questions, I'm finding the move back to the poker community overwhelming since there is all this stuff to cover.

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance for the help.

Holdemmanager 2 and Pokertracker 4 are the two big trackers. They both do a great job of letting you sort by all sorts of statistics for yourself as well as your opponents.

Try America's Card Room as a place to play from the US.

Holdem Manager 2 is good but it also suffers from tracking tournaments incorrectly, still beats the copilot.

Look for up to date strategy videos, and books, as well as a coach to get you up to speed with today's games.

Reviewing and sharing your hand histories might be the cheapest and quickest way to improve.
