just raise 3x, full ring you'd fold that but 6-max you can raise 3x comfortably with any PP. If he 3bets you, you still have odds to set mine

edit: ignore what i just said, i thought you were UTG. i'd limp there but i don't hate raising 3/4x there either

Re: September Beginners Bankroll Thread

Just limp. Somebody else has already limped, so each extra limper makes it less likely somebody's going to attack the field light.

Re: September Beginners Bankroll Thread

First day properly playing NL25, had a decent start and up around 2BI. Immediate goal for now is to get some good volume in to get a realistic feel of how i'm doing at these stakes as i'm on a ridiculous run right now, too good to be true.

3 days into the month

    Re: September Beginners Bankroll Thread

Depressing session of 400 hands, hardly any action: AA 3 times, all folded to my 3bb raise.
Two big hands, too BI lost:
    1. UTG (30/17 but was about 43 VPIP at the time) raises 8c, I 3 bet from BB with AK, he shoves, I call: TT > AK.
    2. This one, villain is 47/17 over not many hands. Should have folded to shove, kicking myself about this but couldn't put him on what he had. Okay, maybe a loose blind defence that got lucky.

    PartyGaming - $0.02 NL - Holdem - 6 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

    MP: $1.97
    CO: $3.03
    BTN: $2.00
    Hero (SB): $2.01
    BB: $2.54
    UTG: $2.09

Hero posts SB $0.01, BB posts BB $0.02

    Pre Flop: ($0.03) Hero has 7 7

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.06, BB calls $0.04

    Flop: ($0.12, 2 players) 5 9 J
Hero bets $0.06, BB calls $0.06

Standard cbet, villain had folded to one earlier.

    Turn: ($0.24, 2 players) 7
Hero bets $0.17, BB calls $0.17

Hit my set, got to bet!

    River: ($0.58, 2 players) 3
Hero bets $0.42, BB raises to $1.36, Hero calls $0.94

    Re: September Beginners Bankroll Thread

Such a horrid couple of days. Especially today. Didn't even bother playing round to the BB because I didn't feel I could play profitably in the mood I was in.

    First this:

    Merge - $0.04 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

    BB: $1.40
    UTG: $4.54
    MP: $4.00
    CO: $5.27
    BTN: $3.98
    Hero (SB): $4.00

Hero posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.04

    Pre Flop: ($0.06) Hero has Q Q

fold, fold, CO raises to $0.12, BTN calls $0.12, Hero raises to $0.42, fold, fold, BTN calls $0.30

    Flop: ($1.00, 2 players) 2 8 5
Hero bets $0.60, BTN calls $0.60

    Turn: ($2.20, 2 players) 7
Hero bets $1.10, BTN calls $1.10

    River: ($4.40, 2 players) K
Hero bets $1.88 and is all-in, BTN calls $1.86 and is all-in

Hero shows Q Q (One Pair, Queens) (Pre 57%, Flop 74%, Turn 86%)
BTN shows A K (One Pair, Kings) (Pre 43%, Flop 26%, Turn 14%)
    BTN wins $7.72

    Then this against a 50/40 with 22% 3bet:

    Merge - $0.04 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

    BB: $0.77
    Hero (UTG): $4.65
    MP: $3.28
    CO: $4.67
    BTN: $1.34
    SB: $5.49

SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.04

    Pre Flop: ($0.06) Hero has Q Q

Hero raises to $0.16, MP raises to $0.54, fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $1.52, MP raises to $3.28 and is all-in, Hero calls $1.76

    Flop: ($6.62, 2 players) A 5 7

    Turn: ($6.62, 2 players) A

    River: ($6.62, 2 players) 6

Hero shows Q Q (Two Pair, Aces and Queens) (Pre 53%, Flop 8%, Turn 5%)
MP shows A K (Three of a Kind, Aces) (Pre 47%, Flop 92%, Turn 95%)
    MP wins $6.29

This along the way (c/r because villain is short and calls too much):

    Merge - $0.04 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

    UTG: $9.75
    MP: $1.20
    CO: $2.76
    Hero (BTN): $4.00
    SB: $4.11
    BB: $5.14

SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.04

    Pre Flop: ($0.06) Hero has Q K

fold, MP raises to $0.14, fold, Hero calls $0.14, fold, fold

    Flop: ($0.34, 2 players) K 4 8
MP bets $0.25, Hero raises to $1.42, MP calls $0.81 and is all-in

    Turn: ($2.46, 2 players) 5

    River: ($2.46, 2 players) A

MP shows J Q (Flush, Ace High) (Pre 25%, Flop 38%, Turn 20%)
Hero shows Q K (One Pair, Kings) (Pre 75%, Flop 62%, Turn 80%)
    MP wins $2.34

Before finally a little FPS, little bit 'running into the top of villain's range' (he's stacked off with flush draw + 1 over BvB). I check back the turn not because 'Lol I has pair + SD value', but because villain will lead the river with most of his range except the middle (if checked to on the river, I planned to bet 1.5x pot), which is pretty weak at this stage, plus I would often play a flush this way (FWIW, does anyone like his call? IMO his hand essentially = JT here):

    Merge - $0.04 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 4 players
    Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

    UTG: $4.00
    BTN: $4.68
    SB: $6.97
    Hero (BB): $4.00

SB posts SB $0.02, Hero posts BB $0.04

    Pre Flop: ($0.06) Hero has 7 9

fold, fold, SB raises to $0.12, Hero calls $0.08

    Flop: ($0.24, 2 players) 3 T 5
SB bets $0.16, Hero raises to $0.48, SB calls $0.32

    Turn: ($1.20, 2 players) 9
    SB checks, Hero checks

    River: ($1.20, 2 players) 8
SB bets $0.74, Hero raises to $3.40 and is all-in, SB calls $2.66

SB shows 8 8 (Three of a Kind, Eights) (Pre 70%, Flop 85%, Turn 25%)
Hero shows 7 9 (One Pair, Nines) (Pre 30%, Flop 15%, Turn 75%)
    SB wins $7.60

I think you'll get stationed a ton otr, weird lines often just get called down because they never believe you. Don't hate his call tbh, think he'll be right more than enough to make it +EV.

Played a live home game today. £10 buyin, 5p/10p blinds so structure's fairly good for such a small buyin live. The players there are baaaaaaad. To the extent that I finished off 1 BI up after being set-over-setted twice for a total of 300bb.
