run bad for life

my story is this, i played poker on occasions and deposited online. i won a tornament worth 5k and withdrew the money. i deposit little amounts now and again, and when playing cash games i think my game is sound however i think i may call to much and have the attitude of "surely he can't have hit again". It seems to me at the minute that aejones theorum is reversed. Im also running really bad and losing to two outers when being all in on the turn and just getting very unlucky in general. i try to be objective and look at my game but i just feel hard done by a lot by the rng. Contemplating giving up online poker, im a winning player at 1/2 cash games in casinos but have such bad luck online.....in desperate need of advice or motivation, as i will win small 70 percent of the time then the odd day everything will go against and i end up tilting off my whole bankroll

Re: run bad for life

What stakes are you playing online, and do you have a HUD/tracker to check your stats?
Live games are considerably softer than their online equivalents. ($1/2 live might be equivalent to 0.01/0.02 online).

Re: run bad for life

i normally play anywhere from 10nl to 50nl.. the games seem very robotic and you need a lot of patience, i can grind out a small winrate but it seems to get whiped on the off day which happens maybe once a week where i run extremely bad. I find it very hard to bluff someone even when you tell a convincing story and they call you down even to a pot bet on the river. So try to minimize bluffs etc at this level and play a standard game but not too abc as to become exploitable. I feel evry1 continuation bets too much, however i seem to get sucked out on the turn a lot and struggle to find their range. i become results orientated and in turn try to keep the pots small which is damaging to my winrate

Do your game plan at the flop not the turn.

You probably have major leaks in your game or several minor leaks. Watch training videos, post hands or get a coach to improve your skills.

10NL online is widely considered tougher than any live $1/$2 game. 50NL is much tougher than 10NL. You are probably getting outplayed rather than being unlucky.

Re: run bad for life

How many hours have you clocked up at 1/2 live? Have you tracked your results? How many hands have you played online? Again, have you tracked your results? Most days you will only win small, if you have a losing day then jump up in stakes to try to get it back and tilt the entire roll off that's just ill discipline not the fault of the rng. That's no different to losing 2 BI's in the live 1/2 game then deciding because you're down 400 that you're going to go play some 5/10 then blaming the shuffling for being down 3k by the end of the day.

"Sound" players don't make statements like this. You're not losing because of beats, you're losing because you're bad at poker. My grandma could beat $1/$2 live and she's been dead for twenty years.

I mean that you already choose which hands to enter which to fold at the preflop stage (hopefully more according to position and table texture than individual card values).

At the flop, you'll either hit the flop, miss the flop by miles, or miss but have a sweet draw. You will be getting the input from other players first from their actions (check call bet raise fold chat) if you are in position and sometimes out of position. You'll know their stack sizes, the size of the pot and some possible implied odds.

This means, you will have enough information at the flop to decide wether you'll fold or go on at the turn before even seeing the cards. So you make your game plan there and stick to it. This will increase your "fold to call" ratio and might put a plug to one of your leaks.

I think that's the reason he loses, "no control".
