+1. My system is optimized for audio but runs HEM2 fine as long as I vacuum the database every so often.

Re: PokerTracker 4 vs HoldemManager 2: Which is the best and why ?
I haven't ever been using HM. I started using PT3 since i play online poker. I was always hearing that people recommend HM rather than PT3. But i really feel fine when i'm using PT3.
After PT4 beta has been released, i have tried it a day along with my playing session. Even i'm still figuring a lot of its new function and some change of old function. I think i'm going to use it in coming session instead of using PT3.

Re: PokerTracker 4 vs HoldemManager 2: Which is the best and why ?
I tend to hate POS software. HM2 falls into that category easily enough. Last time I tried (couple weeks back), it still had a number of stupid, show-stopping bugs for me. These bugs have been present since BETA, FFS, it's been months and months and they still aren't fixed. The bugs include the HUD not showing up at all for random players, cards not shown after showdown, ****ed up hand history in the replayer (sometimes missing actions, sometimes missing cards at showdown), weird results in the tournament tab (I've had my winnings change drastically without any change in games played). These have all been reported a long, long time ago and there is still no fix. Even worse, if you report them again, the support reps act like it's all new **** and have you go through retarded troubleshooting steps that are not necessary. And this is all on Stars, too. HM1 was much better with everything than the current release, save perhaps for looks.
I seriously have a hate on for HM now. Support is crap, software is crap, they released and asked us to pay for it way, way, way, way before it was production ready. In its current state I would say it's nearly ready to go out of beta, but of course the devs made bank on the software months ago. Now we get to wait for real functional software AFTER we've paid for it. **** HM.

What advantages does HM2 have over PT4? and vice versa? (stats, reports, features, etc... don't really care about looks)

PT4 because it works, its user interface is cleaner, and it places succinct and useful notes in villains' HUDs straight out of the box. And it's fast and responsive and works perfectly with Zoom.
Actually just because it works is reason enough.
And 4 > 2 ldo.

Re: PokerTracker 4 vs HoldemManager 2: Which is the best and why ?
Was just looking for a thread like this.
HM2 is unfortunately, awful imo (Long time HM user).
Slow, buggy and nothing but problems.
Haven't tried PT4 yet but can't wait to give it a go.

As a user of HM2, I would suggest that you stay away from it.
It seems to me that the HM people wanted to implement a lot of fancy functionnalities, but all that have been at the expense of the most basic functionnalities...
I'm using HM2 since January, everything started fine, but the more updates are released, the more bugs appear...
The last problem I encountered was duplicate hands, creating fake opponent stats; which have been solved thanks to the user support, but the "solution" also coasted me all the player notes I had ever written about all the opponents encountered...
Next to these problems, I can't also export hand history files, and so on...
So better stick to poker tracker

[x] Running high end computer config/with more RAM than most people.
I've used neither (PT3 user here, it had all the functionality I needed), but having high end system demands for a program tends to limit your potential client base. Browsing the feedback in this thread, it appears if you have an older PC, you'll have to run PT3/4 or HEM1 vs HEM2.

Re: PokerTracker 4 vs HoldemManager 2: Which is the best and why ?
I've been using PT4 for the past week.
It runs flawlessly and no problems whatsoever.
Features wise, HM2 is still way better than PT4.
The pokertracker team don't really seem to care much about how their competition is doing things better than them and just trying to do their own thing it seems (huge fail).
HM2:
- way better navigation
- better menus and access
- better customization
PT4 has a ridiculous amount of drop down menus that take 5-6 mouse clicks to get things done that would only take 1 mouse click in HM2 which is a pain in the ass when your grinding.
The interface is really plain and great, but once you dig a little deeper and start using the reports/filters, it's really a complete mess.
Hopefully they sort it out but it looks doubtful.
In saying that, HM2 runs like complete ass and I don't even think a super computer would run that software efficiently, which is a shame.

Re: PokerTracker 4 vs HoldemManager 2: Which is the best and why ?
pt4 because it's more stable (despite being beta) than hm2.
feature wise, I don't think most people will notice a difference, and I don't think
choosing one or the other is going to affect how well you play.
