plo preflop question

50c/1 plo hu

we get dealt AAA7 no fd's. Btn raises to $3, its on us in the BB. fold right?

I definitely agree that this is always a fold in a cash game.. are we 3-betting this in a tourney tho under the right circumstances?

I agree that it probably is a fold - but I think if you can get it all-in preflop you would actually be a favorite over every hand. The problem is that if you can't get all-in preflop you will have to play a big pot out of position with a hand that almost certainly won't flop well. So if you were in the late stages of a tournament and one of you was shortstacked, it would definitely make sense to try to get the stacks in and see what happens.

This is true, but you're only a slight favorite and it's tough to get AIPF in PLO.

only headsup in position against someone you can control post flop if you dont get it all in pre.
most times ditch it.

anytime you have even one card unrelated to the others you need good reason to play.
you may find that reason but it must be there.

Yes, I'm always folding that OOP.

AAAx is the only hand with trips that I'll even consider playing, and even then not very often.
