With all the good players and super thin value you get against even ok players is PLO beat it a bill?

Rake super high and unless you can bum hunt maniacs, you are basically just swop nut hands till rake catch table up and eats a buy in

Seen 6 handed table play for hour and every player was near even but there were nearly 3 buy ins down?

Facebook or zygan whatever called can offer rake free games for play money

Why is it poker sites need charge so much rake when they basically same as Facebook poker surely the cost of running rake free and non rake free are not different ?

Only things they have do is pay payments to players ( cash out) and some people try keep games clean

Plus there not one good reason that PLO should be highest rake game

But there is lots of reasons that PLO should be least raked game.

Imagine the hilarity if Stars put the same amount of money into payment processing, fraud checking, bot checking, multi-account checking etc as Facebook did

Never understood why cost so much run poker site?

Look how many shady casinos open every day

Think be lot more open casino then in would be start poker site?

Maybe all poker sites are solid now and there no money in rake these days

No money in rake all casino and pits

Not like good ole days when rake was cool.

I don't play PLO but from what I gather there's money to be made at sites other than Stars. Probably at Stars as well if you're much better than the competition.
People also print at live PLO apparently...

Plo is very much alive. It's the farthest from being "solved" compared to NL and Limit. Rake is higher because pots are generally a lot bigger. I don't play on stars, I play on acr microstakes. Rake doesn't seem to be a huge issue if you know what you're doing. I will say that there is a big learning curve when switching from play money to actual real money games from my experience.

Sites have to pay an absolute fortune for licensing fees and taxes in regulated markets. The costs run into millions of dollars per country that is licensed. (This is why some sites service a very small number of countries. It's not worth paying for a licence to serve Ireland, for example, if you can't attract enough players from that country to cover the license fee. Similarly, many sites have no French outpost, because the French authorities want the player pool to be segregated and with very high taxes.)

FWIW, I completely agree that PLO is raked too highly. I think it probably should be raked at roughly half the rate that NLH is, but sites arbitrarily decided to treat both games the same several years ago... and found their customers were often too stupid to notice or care that hardly anyone wins at Omaha.
