correct. if you have 20/10 on a guy over 100 hands, he raised 10 hands and called another 10.

If his 3b % is 3, he 3bet 3 times in 100 hands. (which may mean his 3b range is larger than 3% of hands, he just wasn't always in a position to 3b)

If you believe your optimal stack size is the max or more, top up constantly. Pokerstars has an autorebuy feature where you'll never start a hand with less than X$ or Xbb. It works at least 80% of the time for me

Some people let it bleed down a little (like 5bb) so you don't look like you're a serious grinder so much, but since autorebuy came online, there's really no point.

Re: ***** Official Dumb Questions Thread ****

Can I get to Supernova by the end of the year by playing 20-25 $27 45/18 man SNGs a day for the rest of the year?

I'm not totally sure how the math works.

How many SNGs a day do you think I would have to play for the rest of the year at $27s to make it?

You need 100k VPP.

I'm 98% sure, in SnGs, you get rake x 5 rounded to the nearest dollar. Then every whole dollar = 1 vpp. So rake is = $2. 2x5 = 10. You get 10vpp a game. x 25 games a day = 250 VPP a day.

250*365= 91,250vpp

Is there an easy way to review a session or pick out troublesome hands from my hand history? Or is it just a matter of getting to grips with the HH format and ploughing through that during/after a session?

Also, why do people get SO obsessed by being Supernova?

I get the benefits get better and stuff, but people really seem to go to town on it. Am I missing something??

Get Holdem Manager. They will sort HH by session and you can sort by biggest winning and losing hands

Oh yeah - and why does the "pot" tab on Full Tilt rarely ever actually raises it the size of the pot?

I've seen two calculations preflop of a "pot" bet, one which is just the cash in the middle; and another which involves you including the money you would call the bet with added to the total in the pot.

And postflop is just a single number of how much is in the middle.

But Full Tilt rarely seems to get this straight forward figure right?!

I've got Poker Tracker on a trial at the moment. Will that do it?

Re: ***** Official Dumb Questions Thread ****

I'd assumed SNG meant a single table and you play until there's one person left.

However I keep seeing references to 45 or 90 players SNG's. So it looks like a SNG can be multitable. I can't see the difference between that and a MTT.

What's the difference between SNG and MTT, if any?

MTT is scheduled and starts at a pre-published time. SNG starts as soon as it fills up, hence 'Sit and Go' i.e. once everyone is sat down it starts, no preset time.

Historically SNGs were one table affairs, hence the confusion. You could also have a scheduled one table tournament, and that would be a STT (single table tournament).

With PT3/HEM, you can mark hands for review while playing. In PT3, the little PT3 symbol drop down menu on the HUD interface, the last item is "mark hands for review". It will give you a choice between a few of your last hands. Select the one you want.

Then in the sessions tab afterward (when you're reviewing), the furthest left column (left of the hand #), is the reviewed hands column. If you click the top, it will bring the reviewed hands to the top(or bottom)

Because supernova is when pokerstars is better than FTP in rakeback. So if you dont hit supernova, then why are you on stars?

I'm not entirely sure, I haven't played ftp in awhile. But I believe the software pretends no rake was taken out. So that's why they're screwed post flop.

And preflop, if current pot + your call = new pot. Then a Pot raise is to the new pot + your call.

So in a 100nl game, blinds are .5/1. Current pot is 1.5. your call would make it 2.5. So your raise is to 3.5. (99% sure anyway)

I'm not sure how the Full Tilt button operates since I do not play there. However, a pot-sized raise is usually bigger than you might expect. Say the pot contains $100, and your opponent bets $50. In order to "raise the pot" you would first of all call your opponents bet of $50 which gives a total pot of $200. Then you raise by the size of the pot, so you put $200 on top. Thus your total bet size is $50+$200=$250.

Note that in this case the pot after your raise contains $400, and it costs your opponent $200 to call. These are the same 2:1 pot odds that he gets for a pot-sized bet.

Hope that clears up some of the confusion.
