Bourne2Ace:
First of all, stop posting the blinds in positions other than the blinds. You've not done it a lot, but have done it in every position. Just don't do it.

Preflop, I think you are limping too much, but at NL2 that's probably not too bad. At some point, you will have to start iso-raising more though.
Also, you are insufficiently position aware. You are way too loose in the early positions, and too tight in the late positions, especially on the button.

Your postflop game seems quite OK, at least in your stats. I can;t see much wrong in the stats there.

I got these stats off a site that allows you to peek at player stats and these are mine.

1/2c & 2/4c Cash Game. Party Poker.

Hands Tracked:29,327
Cash Game Profits:$54
Tight/Loose: 17%
Preflop Raise: 7%
C-Bet: 79%
Aggression: 41%

Can someone tell me how this looks?

JustinJude: that is very little data. The only things I can say from it you are playing tight, but too passive, preflop. You should generally raise or fold preflop, and only seldom call.

Cheers Fadabam,

Unfortunately I don't have any of the poker software packages yet so I can't get a detailed breakdown - I think I'll get it when I move up to 5/10c. Also, I play using a netbook which has a 10inch screen and limited processing power and It's not really designed to run multiple apps. Thanks anyway, I'll post again in a couple of weeks when I've moved up a limit.

I think thats 10nl 25nl and a bit of 50nl on pokerstars

Moved over to fulltilt at 10nl but cant seem to get a winning session. Would upload Fulltilt stats but not big enough sample. Anything you can see there that might need tweaking a little bit?

is 4.87BB/100: 9.76bb/100 or 2.98bb/100 ?

gharper: That is almost exclusively preflop stats there. They look pretty good. Only postflop stat is your Agg Freq, which seems high to me, but not crazy.

The BB/100 of PT3 is (I think) still ptbb, which means 1 BB=2 big blinds.

Also, Full Tilt has very high rake below NL25, so even with rakeback, you're probably better off at Stars.

The stats as read are OK, though I think you could be more position aware (that is, looser in CO and button, and slightly tighter in UTG and HI. I don't think that's very relevant though.

when u write *nl25*, do u mean no-limit $2-$5?

what does *10nl* means?

When we speak here about NL(number), we mean No Limit with a max buy-in of (number).
This is almost universally 100 big blinds.

So NL25 is no-limit with $0.10/$0.25 blinds.
NL10 is $0.05/$0.10 blinds.

We even call PokerStars NL $0.01/$0.02 blinds NL2, even though you can buy in for $5.

I have been playing *very* casually for about 4 - 5 years now and have had mixed results and am mostly breaking even. I recently started a trial with PT3 and have attached my cash stats playing rush poker 5NL as well as all the tournament statistics I have.

I want to try and start taking my game to the next level and so am looking for some advice on the best ways to go about finding where all my big leaks are.

anyone have any suggestions of where to start?

Supergaijin: the second picture is the only one that is any use, the others are meaningless stats for analysis. On that 2nd pic, your stats look kind of OK, except that W$WSF is rather low for someone with such high postflop aggression figures. Maybe that's Rush Poker, I have no idea how it plays. Your preflop VPIP/PFR look OK.
Your overall results being negative seems to be caused mostly by the astronomical rake Full Tilt charges at these stakes.

What's the best software to help me generate stats and analyse my games?

Holdem Manager and PokerTracker 3 are thw two main alternatives. Both are OK, though I only know and use Holdem Manager.
HoldemManager is preferred by more people I think.

Hey guys!

I finally found the time to start playing some poker, and I am really enjoying it!
I have been playing 2NL for a month now and was thinking to climb up to 5NL. I heard it is very simular to 2NL, so I am going to give it another shot! (I tried it yesterday but I was really tired and so I played really bad I think, I lost 10 dollar in an hour...)

Do you have some good advice in this regard? I am really curious about which hands you play etc... Someone told me to steal more etc...

All advice is welcome! I am a noob and I really want to get good at it

My Pokerstars nick is TaniaSux.

Tania: the differences between NL2 and NL5 are not that big I think (I don't play either). What you generally see as you go up the levels, is that there a more bad players at the lower levels, and the good players are a bit better at the higher levels.
However, at these very nano-stakes (anything below NL25 basically) there are no really good players: they move up once they have built up a big enough bankroll.

As for which hands you play: tight aggressive is a really good strategy, especially for a learning player. Raise/bet with your good hands, fold your bad and mediocre hands, call with some speculative hands (small pocket pairs and suited connectors.
At these levels, your two basic weapons are aggression and value betting.
Bet or raise whenever you think you have the best hand, so that you can win by getting called and winning the showdown, or by having everyone fold.

DO NOT try to get fancy, for example by not raising with AA: when you are a favorite to win the pot, you need to get as much money in it as you can. The easiest way to do that is by betting and getting called.
This basic strategy means the pots you win will be bigger than the pots you lose. Which is the entire point.

Here's an oddity -- i got clobbered in 25NL so I went back to 10NL -- 7.7k hand checkup and my BTN winnings are low.

mrd99a: Could just be sample size, 1 or 2 big allins lost and you get a result like this. I do note that you steal an awful lot, your jump in VPIP between middle position and cutoff is huge.

Hey guys, I 2-table 5NL Rush at the moment, I know it's a small sample size, but I'm curious as to what leaks I have in my first foray into online poker so I can eliminate them ASAP. Is my red line standard, or should this be above breakeven? I'm also kinda confused by the disparity of my winnings from SB and button, just wanted to see if I was doing anything wrong, outside of the small sample. It also looks like I don't double barrel nearly as often as I should.

Also, I'm using the free poker db hud at the moment, so I'm not sure what the filters "SawF" and "SawSD" are and how they differ from WtSDwsF. I apologise if the stats/graph differ from the usual ones provided by the PTs and HEMs.

Thanks.

LOLdonkaments:
This red line is normal for a tight player at these levels. Your overall stats are very good, no obvious leaks, with all numbers seemingly at normal winning levels. For full-ring , your VPIP/PFR is tight but not nitty.
I honestly can't see a thing that looks wrong. That your button winrate is so bad, just shows how much variance there is in winrates over small sample (less than 1000 hands per position).

Hey everyone,

I know this might be just a little soon to post my stats but lately I've been having a rough time at it so I'm hoping to get this post in and get some much needed help. Hopefully y'all can point out some of my leaks!

I play .01/.02 on pokerstars and I usually 4 table.

Drwaddy:
First, I cant see whether it's fullring or 6-max. If the first, you are playing a bit too loose I think.
Preflop, you are a bit too call happy, where you should be raising or folding -- your PFR should normally be closer to your VPIP.

Your postflop stats are hard to read from this set, but it seems to me you are calling too many raises. Normally at this level when people start raising they have a monster or they are making a stupid bluff. For most players it's nearly always a monster, so you should fold most of the time, not just half the time like you. Go through your hand histories and look for big pots won and lost, and see whether you have been calling down or going all-in against monsters too often.

I just need some help. Been playing recreationally about three years. My tournament stats are pretty good with a 22% ROI over about 1,000 tournaments. I know thats not much, but again I'm a recreational player. I do well in live cash and tournasment home games also.

But I just can;t seem to make any headway in online cash games. I play mostly $25NL. Again, I win at live games, but online I lose. For the past year, I am even over about 3,000 hands (i know that's not much).

I've read many of the books, lots of posts, I just need some direction. Be kind. I am a recreational player, but I don;t like to lose money.

thanks

franco.

Hi everyone,

I play NL50-10 players. I do not have many hands to be reviewed, but I do not much time to play either. These 7k hands are all I have got since august 2009 (except for a few NL10 6max, but that's another story). Profits are roughly equal to 2 BIs, so not really meaningful (cf All In luck => muuuuuuch variance, though luckily compensated)
I kind have the feeling that I am weak tight. Too tight ? Some things I have understood, others I might have not. Any help appreciated!

Thanks in advance

SG
