I’m doing a database review and I noticed my aggression is low. I created a filter for lines where I checked every street.

How would you sift through these hands to find spots where aggression could have been used?

Is this a bad approach to increasing my aggression factor?

You could compare your frequencies to GTO frequencies in various lines and then filter for spots where you missed aggression in those lines. It's also worth comparing your range composition to the solver's in those identified lines - let's say ou don't cbet turn enough; you can then see if you're missing value, no equity bluffs, high equity draws etc. Additionally, if you see something is off, it's worth checking how you played previous streets. Quite often if I see someone missing river bluff for example, it's because they missed turn cbets, flop cbets, or were too tight preflop.

Comparing my stats to ideal stats I under bet about 10% on every street. Right now I have a filter for x/x/x lines. Not sure how often we should be checking all three streets as the IP preflop aggressor, but I would guess at micro stakes it is very little.

Its hard for me to compare to a solver because I only get one free hand a day. I am trying to look at the hands I lost and ask myself if a bet makes sense but I feel like there is a large middle range I just don't know what to do with. Bottom pair, A high, K high hands feel too weak to bet for thin value, especially in micros. Maybe I need to be finding more bluffs OOP.

It's going to be difficult for you to do overall database analysis without the help of aggregate reports and solver frequencies (or population data to work out where non-GTO frequencies would be best). You could either get a coach to do it, or what you can do is go hand by hand and try to logic solve it. The problem with that is you might have blind spots, but try posting and getting feedback from others to help with that.

I'd recommend you start with a simple node that occurs often. Take a look at BTN vs BB SRP and see what your betting frequencies are as BTN and what your x/r and folding frequencies vs. bets are as BB.

Multi-table? Perhaps you are playing 1-2 table too many to recognize spots that gain additional profit. I think that bet sizing is the #1 factor in poker profit .. and to enhance your profit you need to know your opponent dynamic, which might be difficult if you are playing on 'too many' tables.

Are you generating too many folds when a smaller bet would be called?
Are you missing out on value when 1.25 pot or x/r would've been called?
Are you going to Showdown too often without attempting thin value?
Are you 'happy' with calling off with Pot Odds when you should be raising to generate folds or win bigger ones that would've produced zero River value via V folds? GL


I guess I'm also willing to put it out there that if you are 'smart' with your bet sizing you don't necessarily need to be deemed 'aggressive' to be more successful at poker. On the flip side, the more aggressive you become the less often you 'have' to have it since you will be generating more folds (in theory). GL
