Re: Newbie hands review

1 - fold river, this is always two pair or straight
2 - kinda depends on villain, not that bad getting in
3 - cooler
4 - think about it this way.. do you really think he would be doin all that raising with AJ?

@khangura175

1. Seems weird to me that he would choose to play those cards to hit a two pair, with that flop. Also having only a gutshot and still calling me on the turn?

4. So when should i fold it, when he raises my bet on the flop?

flop call was standard, and u should've bet more like 30c.. turn call is bad but not as bad as u make it out to me. may be bad vs you because ur never betting the turn without a hand but he doesn't know that. keep in mind he doesn't know what u have. if people know what u have they'll keep making perfect plays vs u but they don't. it's like it turns out that he was drawing to 2 pair or better on the flop cuz u have AA but why can't he be calling cuz he thinks he has the best hand? is KQ terrible?

It seems to me that your bet sizing is too small nearly every step of the way.

Re: Newbie hands review

Hand 1
Preflop's fine. Bet a bit more on the flop, Closer to $0.30 (>75% of the pot). Turn seems fine. River is a touch tricky; think I agree with the consensus about a fold here; villain's min raise smells a bit like a strong hand that wants you to call.

Hand 2
Preflop's fine. Bet more on the flop, $2 or so. The flop check raise is a bit upsetting, you're holding the Ace of spades which rules out the nut flush draw from villains range (If you weren't holding the As I think NFDs probably form a large part of the range a random villain would check raise you with here with that you currently beat). I'd probably still call though.

Hand 3
Seems fine. Tough beat though. At the point the money went in you're only loosing to AA, JJ, A3 and AJ. Your opponent could have been holding A2, A4-T, AQ+ and would have likely played it the same way.

Hand 4
Preflop seems okay, maybe 3bet to about $0.55 to account for the caller. Bet more on the flop, $0.85ish as played. Reads on villain are quite important here; with no information on villain I'm not sure I like a call of the min raise on the flop unless you know he is capable of doing that as a bluff and intend to check/call turn and river. I'm not a fan of 3betting this flop; I agree with khangura's point.

It's usually more useful to post hands with the results removed as you tend to get more honest and useful advice! I could feel myself being skewed a touch by knowing how your hands ended...

It would be nice if You gave us some info on villains from each hand - stats, type of player, notes if possible etc. I know it's FR and 2nl , but still, helps people who try to answer to your posts.

1 - more everywhere, more pf, more otf (~0.32), more ott (~0.72), river is bet/fold (~1/2 or less is imo fine) or even c/f depending on type of villain

2 - pf, calling 3bet IP pf is also an option, depends on villains type/stats (3bet). Nice 4bet sizing imo. We're not folding TPTK in 4bet pot. Cbet size is nice too.

3 - don't open limp, raise it pre. Bet more ott, not folding.

4 - squeeze size is too small esp. since we're OOP - decision to squeeze depending on who UTG and UTG+1 are but not bad. Cbet 1/2, jam turn yourself as played

Re: Newbie hands review

1) Larger OTF, OTT. River if a B/F

2) Flatting pre is okay. 4B sizing is okay too. As played, dont think I can fold - Though, I concider checing back the flop to induce some spazzes / extra value

3) Dont open limp. Post flop line is somewhat villian dependant. Turn you need to bet larger for value. Prolly getting it in, but not surprised to find JJ...

4) Squeeze larger. Bet flop larger (running theme, bet sizing needs fixing). Not delighted when V. min raises. Prolly pot controlling flop (call) and evaluating turn - I am NOT autostacking TPTK in a 3B pot btw... Given the SPR anyway.

Re: Newbie hands review

H1, check fold river, ez fold to the raise as played
H2, Just shove over his raise or fold depending how tight he is (weak lay down I know but some people only raise two pair or better)
H3, cooler
H4, dont raise over his raise just flat it and call down. Villain could have bluffs or mediocre hands in his range. By reraising you eliminate these.
