Reid: Maybe you read some other post by some other person and then responded to mine?!?!?!? I never mentioned suckouts hitting me after I got my money in ahead, or being massively frustrated by it.
oh?

I am 100% sure that the quality of cards I receive per hour in cash games is MUCH MUCH WORSE than in any tourney I play. I hit a flop 30% of the time in a tourney, I connect with the flop less than 10% of the time in cash game hands (whether I anted up or not, I keep track after I fold garbage...and I still don't hit the flop). How can this happen to me almost every time I play cash?
I wasn't trying to offend you. I was just pointing some things out.

Biggest Issue: Too verbose.
2nd Biggest Issue: Lacks experience.

Engineer: I do not use Skype and think I am not yet allowed to do any PM'ing within this site, due to being a new member. I do always tell people now that no top school is worth it for the oversized tuition and the similar-to-other-nonprestigious-schools' teachings. A well-run non-prestigious school is great if the instructors care about you, and you have a desire to really learn and spend some out of classroom time with them. Harvard Business School had none of those qualities. But, if you are mega-personality with great networking skills (unlike me), a top MBA school is definitely worth the money due to the networking aspect.

Thanks again folks. If I play again (live) in a few days, I will report what happens. I hope to post 3 tournament hands also below that I have questions about.

I hope that you will stick around long (and post) enough so that we may exchange private messages. In the mean time may I ask what are the general Pre-requisites like for admission into Princeton Universities' Engineering and Technology School.

Also might I state that no one can really play poker for less than 1000 hours and expect to crush without resistance / difficulties. Many people of the 21st century would consider poker to be a sport; generally requiring lots of practice and honing of the skills to produce deadly outcomes.

Keep going. With your study skills and academic assets this (crushing poker) should not be out of reach . good luck

Sorry Reid I did a web page word search for the words you typed and it didnt hit because you paraphrased.
Also, you were referring to my Bio intro comment that stopped being valid last November, so that is why your comment seemed so foreign to me. Clearly I state that was "annoying" pre-December 2011. It is just a donk thing where on some sites, esp with play money, nobody will fold to a bet from the guy who has a real hand. It stopped being an issue in November.
I apologize for my error in last message.

OP plays 2 tables at a time and wants to make $3000 this month. Need I say more? So... maybe 150 tourneys in a month? $200 profit each is quite delusional. You'd be lucky to average $5 per tourney for $750 proft. Soo far from realistic. Clueless buddy, sorry. Ivy league?! Seriously? And looking to play poker instead of getting a job. No way you can make a living, let alone a consistent profit at this point. Get a job.

.. $20 per, not $200. Still impossible at small stakes for any period of time.

Your post would make sense if you had not misunderstood my words. And I figure you misunderstood bc I have been "too verbose" ITT, so.............

My August goal is to make HALF as much profit playing LIVE poker as I did in July. I made $6k in July, not counting online.

I have not mentioned online goals of mine, which I do have, too. They are more conservative. I 6x'ed my online BR From July 1 to 31, but I do not expect to do that very often. I had better than average success last month.

Thanks for reading and chiming in, though.

Re: New 2+2 member requests feeback on odd results: 100% tourney success, 0% cash game success

You remind me of myself when I started playing about two years ago. Was winning against all my friends in live home games, deposited online and binked the first $4-180man I entered. Thought I was the nuts.

A few too many thousand dollars later, I finally reached somewhat of an understanding of how things work. Bankroll management, variance, tilt control and game selection is where I what I would start to read up on if I were you.

Now I'm at the point where I know a few things about poker, but realise that there are people out there who know so much more. You will to once you start reading what some of the better posters have written across the board.
