Was this a muck?

Final table tourney. Player 1 goes all in for his last chip. Player 2 calls the big blind. Player 3 raises. Everyone folds exept player 2 who calls raise to make a side pot. On the river, player 2 checks and 3 makes a bet. 2 folds and 3 Takes down the side pot. Instead of turning her cards up to see who won the small main pot, she flips them toward the muck pile.
I'm in seat 10, she in 8. I am watching closely because we all will be in the money if she beats the all in. When I seen her hand moving forward I say WAIT!! and stick my hand out and try and stop them from hitting the muck.
My hand comes down on the edge of the pile and her cards hit my hand. When I lift my hand they are not touching the pile but still face down.
The all in claims she mucked. Floor called and ruled that since my hand was touching the muck pile when her cards hit it, it was a muck. What's your take?

Re: Was this a muck?

The muck pile isn't magic, and in a tournament, especially with a player all in, the hands HAVE to be shown down.

Floor is awful if they ruled it a mucked hand and awarded the main pot to the shorty without a showdown.

Not a muck, because the cards are retriveble. Even if they had hit it and they were still retrievable it wouldn't be a muck. I however do not know if she has the right to muck or not.

Re: Was this a muck?

Terrible, and pretty lol that the magic muck pile can turn a hand into the muck pile.

More than anything else...
You NEVER, I repeat NEVER have the right to touch someone elses cards. Someone trying to touch my cards under any circumstances would likely have my fist land very heavily on their hand before they came close. You don't get to reach in and grab / touch / stop someones cards because you don't like what's happening.

Re: Was this a muck?

Now, as for what should have happened, according to the tourney part of RRoP:

Quote:
34. All hands will be turned faceup whenever a player is all-in and betting action is complete.
So the moment player 2 folds the dealer should have told all players to turn their cards face up before doing anything with the pot.

Floor retrieves cards, tables them, winner gets pot, OP gets caution for touching another players cards.
