MTT: NOT going all-in preflop before the bubble, is this profitable? MTT: NOT going all-in preflop before the bubble, is this profitable?

Do you think that not going all in before we get into the bubble with hands other than the premiums (AA, KK, AK, maybe QQ) would be profitable in the long run or not?

And no sir, we are not depending this decision on the looseness or postflop ability of our opponents.

Well it depends on the table and the situation. Some times you want to fold ATC for ICM reasons, other times you want to shove ATC because your opponents will be as nitty as you suggest

I don't understand the question.

It's folded to you on the button. You have 50bb. SB has 4bb. BB has 3bb. You're dealt TT.

You would... Limp? Fold?

You're UTG with 4bb. You're dealt JJ. You...Limp? Fold?

You're co with 6bb. It's folded to you. You have 88. Players behind you have been blinding down their short stacks waiting for a hand. You... Limp? Fold?

In all the examples you have given, yes going all in is a no brainer.

However, what I wanted to ask was in such situations:

it's early to late middle stages of the tournament and you have an average stack. There is a relatively bigger stack (might be 100bb bigger or 1bb bigger) either in front of us who has raised or gone or all in; or someone behind us who can cover our all-in.

If only you could narrow down the many pertinent variables then maybe we could say something more than it depends
